We like it. It's a nice little restaurant. Feels cozy, but not the exquisite or romantic type. Tables packed slightly close to each other, thus not feeling private enough. Staff are helpful, but seem in a rush and want to get things done quickly instead of delicately, eg wine dripped outside the glass when they poured it, etc. Oysters were... More

Among some one star Michelin restaurants, this shall be the top one worthwhile to visit. The waiters provide excellent service. Although we cannot speak French, they can speak English very well. The environment is graceful and decent for a nice dinner there with your love ones or great friends. The wine is awesome as well.

My wife and I had dinner here during our latest trip and absolutely loved it. We put ourselves in the hands of our server to choose our meal and wine and were not disappointed. Both the food and service were superb!

This is a fancy, beautiful, well organized parade of delicious food! Our waiter was so nice and tried to help whenever possible even though our French is atrocious and his English was poor. Exceptionally friendly and warm staff even though clearly an upscale place. The food was delicious and the wine was wonderful!

My wife and I visited on May 16th as to celebrate my birthday and my wife has put on a separate review with details of details of what we ate headed, “Lived up to its reputation!” but I just wanted to add my own opinion too. La Roche le Roy is in a lovely old building, what I would describe... More

We had a wonderful meal here which lived up to this restaurants reputation both on Trip Advisor and having a Michelin star. The environment is very pretty, the restaurant is situated in a lovely big house, with very pretty gardens and grounds, although nearby 2 busy roads and a busy junction. We were made very welcome and offered aperitifs and... More

We had dinner at LRLR on a recent trip to France, and we would rate this restaurant as one of the dining highlights of our nearly 3 weeks there. Warm and friendly service, superb 2 star food and excellent wines - an exquisite Savennieres with our pike fish course and Bourgueil with our lamb...we were in heaven. A wonderful evening,... More

Like another reviewer, it was the TA rating that tipped me off that this might be a place to visit during a stay near Tours and I wasn't disappointed, although there were times on the journey through the outskirts of this busy city when I wondered whether my trip was necessary... It's one of those places easy to get to... More

Yes, I sent a hand-written thank you note! It gave me great pleasure to personally thank everyone at La Roche Le Roy for a memorable dining experience. We were lucky to have a lunch reservation on the terrace the last week in August when they reopened after vacation. The venue is charming and well cared for both inside and out.... More

I could not give higher praise for such a wonderful meal. Start to finish we felt warmly welcomed and spoiled by the outstanding staff, who never failed to bring personal touches, even greeting us by name as we approached the restaurant. We had been wine-touring through Provence, Rhone & Burgogne for the week, and wished to try the local Loire... More
