I had a dinner at the end of August 2015 with my wife and we had a table outside in the veranda. Very pleasant night with a little bit of fresh wind after a day at 30 degrees. We had pidgeon with foie gras truffe and a lot of side such as steamed vegetables, dates and peach compote. Really oustanding.... More

We were in the Loire Valley as a pre-cruise event of a Viking River Cruise around Bordeaux. We had a two-evening stay at a resort in Tours, and Restaurant Charles Barrier was highly recommended for a first-class dining experience. I couldn't agree more! Note that we went to the restaurant itself - they also have a bistro which was booked... More

We ate in the restaurant not the brasserie. First class service and wonderful food. Menu choice was good and the wine list extensive and at all prices. Pricey but worth it.

Wonderful place for a business dinner, plush dining room overlooking the garden I had been here last time in 2002 quite a while ago but I remember it to be one of the top restaurant in France, only this time I felt the menu gourmand lacked consistency, while the service was excellent and refined up to the serving of the... We dined here recently for our anniversary, and the entire staff made it most enjoyable. Each dish (and there were many) was presented beautifully. Pre-starter dishes and pre-dessert desserts, including a special one for our celebration, rounded out a terrific meal. The atmosphere and decor add to one's delightful experience.

Set inclusive menu at around 60-109 Euros was good but not exceptional for a Michelin starred restaurant. Having always eaten at the same owner's neighbouring brasserie, found this poor value in comparison and quite unmemorable. Scallop starter came in a fish stock and although fine lacked flavour in the scallops and a boring sauce. The main course was a small... More

This restaurant was recommended by our taxi driver. It was an easy five minute walk from our hotel and is also on the Tours tram line. We went on a Monday night and we're not disappointed. The 3 course prix fixe meal was delicious. Not expensive ( by Canadian standards) it was around 90 Euros for two including a delicious... More

I had a lunch here for 4 hrs a week ago and after the lunch I was about to die of FOOD. I don't remember how many courses I had, but all I remember is that the foie fras from the entree could stuff you well enough, but after that there's still the main course, 5 types of cheese, pre-dessert,... The experience starts with an amazing aperitif outside on their deck, then the meal really highlights the regions wealth of produce! The lobster and pork were amazing dishes. The grand mariner soufflé was also perfectly executed! The service, provided by quite a young group of staff, was excellent and even though our French leaves a lot to be desired, they... More
