It could have been 5...

But I chose 4. The service was good but a bit too slow, and I regret that the patron entertained all the tables but ours, in spite id the fact I asked some questiona about the plates and even sent compliments to the chef. A more customer oriented service would have been appreciated.

Saturday night in Tours we stumbled upon this amazing restaurant down a backstreet. We were wandering around trying to find somewhere for dinner where you didn't have to sit so close to your neighbour to hear the conversation. From the moment we sat down to the moment we left this dining experience improved exponentially. The friendly waitress fortunately could translate... More

The staff were very friendly and one waitress spoke excellent English so was really helpful as all the menu was in French (as it should be). Every course was well presented and any recommendations from the staff were excellent. We ended up having about 7 courses (some were free) but didn't feel uncomfortable afterwards. our meal for two came to... More

Our first night in Tours we asked a taxi driver where was a good place to eat. Immediately he recommended this family run restaurant in a back street. Was soon full and was obviously going to be good. The food was really very enjoyable and the staff the best. Nothing was too much trouble. A great evening.

On the last evening of our ten days in Tours we were fortunate enough to find La Famille by Bardet. The menu was enticing and the offer of an English translation and the modern interior enticed us in. The young lady who took our order translated the menu item by item and we made our choices from the plat du... More

This little gem is tucked in an alley in old Tours. We had a lovely chat with one of the owners, who translated the menu for us. The portions were perfect and the courses were perfectly paced. The chef has a great imagination for combinations and presentation. It was our favorite restaurant experience in the Loire Valley.

After a long day of chateaux sight-seeing, we were so lucky to find this restaurant. The food was fantastic. One high light was an appetizer of avacado puree, sea bass tartar, and topped with a carpaccio of sea bass. Desserts were excellent especially the perfectly cooked meringue filled with strawberry mousse. The couple that runs it are very friendly. We... More

It was a pleasure to discover this restaurant in Tours run by a charming couple (Alice and Olivier). Warm atmosphere, trendy decoration. The food is very fresh, inventive and excellent. A real keeper.

We dined at this restaurant during a day trip to Tours. We chose the restaurant as it was child friendly and we had our 19 month old daughter with us. Our lunch was really really good. Both my wife and I had the Lobster main course and both thought that it was one of the best seafood dishes that we... More

What a wonderful find! We were in Tours for three days and found this lovely restaurant in the medieval part of the town. The rooms have a modern interior and a delightful hostess who translated the whole menu to us. As there were two of us we chose from the al a carte and the fixed menu. All the dishes... More
