We came here after being recommended it by a friend who lives is the local area. My starter was a disappointment. I had the poached eggs which turned up under poached and watery. The starter which was meant to be a poached egg salad just ended up being a tasteless watery salad soup. It really wasn't good. My main was... More

I visited this restaurant with 4 other work colleagues, during a business trip in Tour. From outside it was looking good but this is the only nice thing that I can say about this restaurant! Service was average, nothing special but the food...enough to say that the beef that I ordered probably died of old age and I had to... More

We lunched here recently, the food was very good, the staff were extremely helpful, we don't speak French, but that wasn't an issue. We would definitely go back, the place was full of locals and regulars. Not very touristy

We visited for lunch and were not disappointed with the menu of the day so reading the reports after our visit was a bit of a surprise. There is a better choice than some of the other restaurants and four of us had an enjoyable meal. A nice bottle of St. Nicholas de Bourgueil too. The majority of people eating... More

It WAS touristy, but it was a Touraine restaurant, so we go to sample the regional cuisine here. The other places nearby were NOT Touraine restaurants, this seemed one of the few. The "set menus" which many travelers eschew because they're considered "touristy" was a GREAT way to sample several local dishes, for a relatively low price. We had an... More

The restaurant looked better on the outside and the menu seems inviting, but it was the worse of all restaurant in our holiday in terms of quality. My husband chose duck breast and he got a very small bites of it. My dessert was not good at all. There're so many other restaurants in the same street, I'd picked up... More

There are two entrances to this restaurant; one with pavement tables on the traffic-free Rue du Grand Marche in Tours old town, the other on a minor road behind. The two set menus are named after French Kings. We sat outside under an awning and watched as people walked up or down the street. The service and welcome was friendly.... More

very average - menu of the day aimed at tourist. It was OK but nothing to shout about best part was the price 11.50 euros - so good for a tight budget

Called in here for a quick lunch whilst exploring the historic quarter of Tours. Large selection of 'unusual' salads on offer including my choice which was the prawn, smoked salmon, smoked herring and....grapefruit. However the combination worked and was freshly prepared. Wouldn't rush back as such a large choice of eating establishments in this area but a perfectly pleasant lunch... More
