Nice lunchmenu in a refined restaurant

We had a good lunch here, with an excellent starter. Service was very friendly. Main dish with fish was received with mixed feelings. I liked it but my company didn't like the beans wich were served with the fish.(question of taste) Desert was also very tasty. Overall a very good experience.

So this was a tough Resturant to rate. The meal was so so, but the dessert was very good. The Resturant is in the old town section and was nice. Outdoor seating and perfect weather. We had a party of 20 so service rating probably isn't fair, but it was quite slow. Menu was rather limited, we ordered off the... More

The restaurant was too expensive for the food and was really nothing special. Be aware of the insane taxi prises if going to/from Tours.

I stumbled upon Barju for lunch and it was one of the best meals that I have ever had in my entire life. I chose the lunch fixed menu which is a bit pricey - more than 20 euros - but ended up being well worth it. The fish was extremely fresh, the service excellent, and I was the only... More

This restaurant turned out to be quite an adventure in experimental fusion cooking - very tasty and innovative, but unexpected from our perusal of the menu in the window. We both went for fish starters and main courses. The Saint-Pierre with mussels and aubergine raviolis in a bouillon was a definite hit. Not the cheapest meal we had in Tours,... More

Arrived without reservation after 1.30 PM and had an excellent experience in every way. Service was deligthfull and very professional. Food was original but not in the extreme with special attention to the quality of the produce and using various spices a nice change from the regular "cream/butter" french cooking. Exceptional fish dished and lavish wine list. Highly recommended not... More

First this is a place that is absolutely not teenager friendly (nothing on the menu appealed to the two teenagers we were with in our party of five). Second the service was not at all warm (and I am not refering to the staff but the couple of owners). Third, very disappointing to hear that the wine list does not... More

This was my fourth visit to this unique fish restaurant that my wife and I found by chance last year. Our two friends, straight from the airport, were as enthusiastic as were we. A husband a wife team run this comfortable and cleanly decorated place and have given a touch of "nouvelle" magic to some great fish dishes - this... More

Went to Barju as I had read about on Tripadvisor. The restaurant has modern decor, and the waiter was very pleasant. As we had a biggish lunch we decided to just have a main course each. I had the St. Pierre Grille with Basil Mousse sauce, baby shrimps and peas 30 Euro. My daughter wanted to order the Veal, but... More

Went to Bar Ju as it was just around the corner from our hotel in the old town and it had had a good review in a newspaper supplement on Tours. Think it was just reopening and it was fairly quiet on the evening we visited. Its largely a seafood restaurant, but there is a fine selection and everything we... More
