Excellent cuisine in Tours

While in Tours we visited Le Turon (named for the Celtic tribe of the region) and were delighted both times with wonderful three course meals. Entrees included salades and various fois gras preparations; plats we sampled included braised pork chop and steak, lamb simmered for 7 hours and "fried... read more

went here on the recommendation of our hotel receptionist, to celebrate our daughters birthday while visiting Tours. SUPER restaurant for a special occasion. Im sure the prices are good if you dont spash out though (2 courses were approx €22 I think) - we did splash out, and enjoyed every morsel. Excellent wine list, great recommendations from the staff. We stopped in for lunch and by the time we left we were wishing we did not have plans for dinner. Traditional French restaurant with seasonal selections from the local area. Wonderful lamb with pommes frites. Great local white wine. Reasonable price for what we received. Highly recommend.

A group of 10 of us, celebrating our student days in Tours, went to this restaurant. Wow! In the 5 days in Tours, this was our best meal--way better than some of the fancy (and pricey) restaurants we went to. Surprisingly, there was only one other table occupied---have no idea why it wasn't jammed. I had the 7 hr cooked... More

Recommended to us by our hotel staff and we were not disappointed. Chose from the set menu which was less than 30 euros for 4 courses, all of which were fantastic.

Traditional French and regional Food. We had dinner while staying around the corner in Tours. Great food, great service and even a sample of "fois grae". Suggest you try the Duck with pear. The French know how to cook duck. Pity we only found this restaurant on our last night in Tours.

Food is excellent, wine is delicious, service impressive. A bit expensive, but worth all the money. And they are opened during bank holidays.

in center, near the cathedral place, you have view of the crowded street, you can eat good and not very expensive. prepare to wait some time until you reserve your order.

Visited Le Turon on recommendation of son who is studying in Tours and thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience. Three of us enjoyed three excellent three course meals washed down with very acceptable wines. The quality and flavour of the beef that two of us had was outstanding and the 7 hour lamb was meltingly tender. At about £100 for three... More

This place is situation on a pedestrian street in the old town of Tours- Rue Colbert. This place offers a traditional menu with emphasis on regional cuisine. The wine list is very large centering around local wines . The service was very attentive and accommodating. The food was well prepared and a decent value.
