We often eat at Trip Advisor recommended restaurants, and usually they meet expectations.....this one is an exception....in my opinion good looking, relatively tasteless food! This restaurant was close to our hotel and we were undecided whether to eat there or at the Bistro...we chose the Bistro and wish we had stayed at the hotel. The food, I thought, was distinctly... The Bistro is the little brother of the Restaurant Barrier. Very good cuisine at a very reasonable price.

Visited this bistro with family whilst studying abroad in tours. Amazing food and the formule (which is a lunch set menu for those English speakers) did not disappoint. Very cheap for good French food and very fresh. I would recommend getting here right at opening time which I recall is midday. On weekdays it's always packed with regulars - which... More

When we had such a good experience in the Charles Barrier restaurant we also want to try the bistro. Is was close to our hotel so that also was a good argument to go there. It surely was a nice surprise! We had a good dinner for a very reasonable price. The setting depends on which table you have but... More

Normally I am not a big fan of Bistrot but I must say that I was quite surprised by the food quality in this bistrot. Definitely not the same as bistots in Paris.... Service was really good, done by a young dynamic team. As for the food, everything was nicely prepared and tasted good. Can recommend this nice restaurant outside... More

This restaurant was the best value during our week long trip in France! The saver set menu at €19.50 was an absolute bargain! The food was delicious and beautifully presented! I wish I lived in Tours so that this place could be my local! I would dine there every week! The food was masterfully cooked and every dish has some... More

Located outside the city centre, walking distance. Simple typical brasserie atmosphere. I was with a family of six and tried both the decouvertes and saver menu. Very good food, large plate. Very kind service. A very nice place

Booked this by e mail for a special birthday meal explaining that it was a surprise and was a little disappointed. The food was good and the wine menu was good value. The service was average, we waited so long for our cognac that we left. It would have been a nice touch if someone had said a simple happy... More

This is the sister cafe to the Michelin starred restaurant Charles Barrier. Overall, I enjoy this cafe much more then the Michelin restaurant as the quality of food and service is a much greater value. The menu is traditional but inventive and for the value / quality balance it is hard to beat in the Tours area. The cafe strikes... More
