Booked this early on as just travelling through Orleans on our way back to the uk. Bit unsure at first, as thought a bit snooty. How wrong we were, Sabine the owner was lovely and put us at ease. The wine we delicious and the food scrummy. Give it a go as definately worth a visit.

The food is made to match the wines and wow is everything a treat to the senses. Sabine is a sommelier and boy does she know her stuff. Go with the flow and let her chose the wines. We had two different wines with each course and had to guess the grapes and locations. That girl is great and made... More

We only had a short stay in Orleans and the Hotel Margueritte recommended Ver di Vin for dinner. In the atmospheric old part of town you walk down stairs to a stone cellar. The Manager, wife of the chef, made us welcome and took us through the menu, in English. The selection was limited as the chef only uses fresh... More

The restaurant is situated in a very old looking cellar and has that dark musty damp smell which you may have thought was a problem but actually fits in excellently with the restaurants self styled 'wine bar with additional food' mentality. The food, though second fiddle to the wine is excellent. Expect uber seasonal, small menus changed daily depending on... More

The owners (husband - chef, wife - front of the house) opened up specially for our group of 6 and another group of 4 (they're usually closed on Wednesdays and Thursdays during July and August). We'd agreed on that via friendly exchanges of emails. The restaurant is in a cellar, decorated in an artsy way. The owner is a funny... More

We showed up at about 6:30 on a Thursday (we were the first customers there) and ended up staying for about four hours. The two of us are pretty serious wine fans and this is exactly what we were looking for. The wine was super - highlights included a Gigondas and a couple of Burgundies, much better than we can... During our honeymoon in France, we spent one night in Orleans. Our hotel had recommended that we try Ver di Vin as a special restaurant. We were so pleased that we followed their recommendation as this meal was one of the highlights of our honeymoon. Ver di Vin may be a bit hard to find at first (it's off a... More

Saturday night in Orleans is not an easy place to find somewhere to eat if you haven't booked but finally found the Ver Di Vin down a side street just off the old centre and although full, they agreed to squeeze us in. The bar is owned and run by Sabine who looks after the wine and her husband who... More

Where to start?.. Having found the first two restaurants recommended by our hotel (L'Abeille, Rue Alsace-Lorraine), Le Lievre Gourmand & La Petite Marmitte (sic) to be closed on a Saturday night (?), and asked to try again in 90 minutes by the 'Pis-en-Lit', with no guarantee of a table even then, this was our last attempt at good French cuisine,...
