We enjoyed an evening meal at this lovely restaurant at the end of our holiday in France. We hadn't booked but saw the owners just before opening time and asked if they had a table. We were full downstairs so we opted for a table upstairs and we soon joined by two other couples. Everything was special from the menu... More

Went for lunch with my wife and our three month old, we were welcomed and looked after from start to finish (and our kid was out cold for the duration, thankfully!) Food was exquisite, price very reasonable indeed considering the quality and dedication on display. If you only eat once in Chinon, eat here.

Only a small number of tables in a restaurant operated very efficiently by a couple - he waits table and does the hosting while she does magic in the kitchen. I enjoyed the lamb fricasse - meaty and wholesome. My wife enjoyed a great piece of fish. A caramelised rice pudding hit the spot for both of our desserts. Efficient... More

Visited for dinner in early September with my wife We had a delightful meal, cooked and served by a husband and wife team (the lady cooking). The star turn was unquestionably the desert of roasted apricots but it was all good from the amuse Boucher to the final coffee. Thank you and keep it up

Very good food, good friendly service and very good value. Some English spoken if you need it. Menu is fairly limited in choice, but that's a good sign! Best to book in season.

Just cook and waiter - him and her - turning out excellent meals. This was the best meal of a 10 day trip according to one in our party. Importantly the place was full and we were glad we booked. Limited menu very reassuring.

We really like this eatery, which pushes At'able for top spot. Delightful owner/waiter and some original menus, charmingly presented in large envelopes. Good value, including the wines, and thoroughly recommended.

In the terms used by the Michelin guides, our meal at La Part des Anges was not just 'worth a detour', it was 'worth the journey' from England to Chinon. We had spent a week revisiting the Chateaux of the Loire, have previously visited in around 1978! We based ourselves in Chinon and, of course, consulted TripAdvisor. There are some... More

Tried to book before our arrival in France but couldn't find a website. Turned up just before opening and managed to secure a table upstairs. Very little atmosphere with only 3 tables and impossible to have a private conversation. Ordered aperitifs while perusing the menu. The amuse bouche arrived before the drink and when they did arrive they were flat.... More
