Tried to book before our arrival in France but couldn't find a website. Turned up just before opening and managed to secure a table upstairs. Very little atmosphere with only 3 tables and impossible to have a private conversation. Ordered aperitifs while perusing the menu. The amuse bouche arrived before the drink and when they did arrive they were flat.... More

We hadn't read any reviews before arriving without a booking. It was our lucky night to secure the last free table. Booking is absolutely essential if you don't want to miss a great french dining experience in this fabulous little town in the loire valley.

Just finished a lovely meal. The atmosphere is wonderful and you are not on top of the table next to you like in so many other restaurants in France. The menu is somewhat limited but flavor and presentation are outstanding. We were in Paris and the loire valley this trip and this was our best meal.

Sunday evening and we hadn't booked anywhere so we decided, having seen that this restaurant was going to be open, to turn up as they opened - wasn't disappointed. They only had a couple of tables left, everything else was already booked. Food and service were exemplary, only slight downside is the decor, needs a small makeover to make it... More

What can be said that hasn't already? Terrific husband and wife team serves you a meal to be remembered. The foie gras is a ridiculous house-made terrine that will spoil you on foie gras forever. Trust me, this beats anywhere else's foie and I know. I think I ate it everywhere we went in France (my gall bladder hates me).... More

We were here for lunch last year and this time we went for dinner. It is a small restaurant and it is advisable to book. Being small the menu is of a similar size but I would recommend any dish on it. The cooking is excellent though it should be given the small number of dishes. The asparagus veloute is... More

Small & tidy, this fabulous restaurant with wife cooking and husband out front is superb! Watching the two of them interact & function is part of the wonderful experience. Every course delicious, great wine list; just great in every way. Reserve in advance; it's very popular. If in Chinon, you HAVE to eat here!

We found this place by chance our first night in Chinon. Amazing food and cute atmosphere! Foie is insane, scallops and duck are amazing, dessert is unique and great flavors! All items are such high quality and fresh, with the best flavors! We loved it so much, we went back the second night of our trip. Had mostly the same... More

We ate here in April, just after Easter, so hardly the tourist season in full swing. However, the restaurant was full and people were being turned away - always a good sign. My husband enjoyed the foie gras and the St Jacques (perhaps a sauce may have added to the dish), whilst I had the asparagus with roasted garlic and... More

We chanced upon this small restaurant and liked the look of the set menu, both content and price. As it opened we asked for a reservation and as it happened that was luck as it was full from 7.30 and turning people away. A delightful one sitting meal served at a sedate pace, all delicious and reasonably priced. I totally... More
