This place is fantastic in every way!

A husband and wife do it all at this fabulous place in the heart of Chinon. Virginie is the chef - and a great one at that - and Herve serves and seats and takes orders etc. etc. Yes, it's a small place with few table and the menu is not extensive but nonetheless, it's amazing it works as well... read more

recommended by people who know and locals - the one next door is the opposite: pretentious, slow, bland food and you are the client and we're in France so you 're always wrong even if the wine has "madeirised". La part des Anges is the best to go to with an adorable couple do really take care of you and... More

We were recommended this restaurant by our hosts, and thoroughly enjoyed it. Lovely flavours, and beautifully presented. The choice is limited, but we prefer that - making a choice between the four main dishes on offer was difficult enough anyway. The amuse-bouche was a pleasant surprise, my wife's goats cheese with green tomato was lovely, the variation on moussaka just... More

Tiny place, with one lovely young woman cooking all by herself, and it's unclear how she manages. Definitely need to book first!

Lovely little restaurant run by husband and wife. As she is alone in a tiny kitchen I'm not sure how she manages to produce such great food but this intimate little spot is definitely worth booking. We had fish and one of the meat dishes both were lovely. The menu is obviously not extensive but the quality of the ingredients... More

Had high expectations for an evening meal here but felt that the meal was good, but not up to the standard expected after reading other reviews. Had a fixed price evening meal with limited options and a fairly expensive red wine. Food was interesting and well presented , but no 'wow' and feel Les Annees 30. Gives a better experience... More

We chose this place for lunch because the setting was very attractive. Small, clean, simple and only few outdoor seating. The restaurant served contemporary french cuisine. I had eggplant baked with ground beef in cream sauce and my partner had fish of the day. Both were very delicious. The fish was fresh and the eggplant dish was very creative. The... More

We went here for my daughter's birthday during our vacation. She was thrilled, as was my wife, but I was a little disappointed given its very high rating. The food was good, but not exceptional.

We enjoyed a really wonderful meal here on the recommendation of a friend. The food was fresh, seasonal, and generous. The selection of local wines was very reasonably priced and paired marvelously with the food. The couple that run the place are friendly and accommodating, though service can be slow at times as there are only two of them. But... More

On main walking route in Chinon. You have to have a reservation. Good amuse bouches; appetizers of fois gras and crab were excellent. Fish with a creamy beurre blanc type of sauce and braised endive were also very good. A not too sweet Baba a Rhum finished off the meal. Nice selection of wines. Alovely meal.
