We had to wait quite a long time before getting some attention. The owner was quite grumpy even though the waitress was much nicer to us. We barely took a main dish and half a bottle of wine as the menu was lacking inspiration. Not a place where we will come back.

we had the 'menu de terrior' (mine was 'coq au vin') option and both plates were good, if unmemorable. service was helpful and also multi-lingual (as were the diners). good bread, as one would hope in france. a good local wine for under 3 euros and ony 2e for a coffee make this a reasonable dining option. we didn't have... Our food was pretty good - we chose some local specialities which were delicious. Our waitress was lovely (but clearly over-stretched). Our spot outside catching the last of the sun was also lovely. But, you know when you can't quite put a finger on why someone (not the waitress) isn't very welcoming? Have you ever suddenly decided to leave the... More

We couldn't get into the place of our first choice, and a local merchant suggested la grappa. What a delight!! We had a beautiful French gourmet meal. The presentation was excellent and the food delicious. The canard foi gra was fantastic, as were all our other dishes. We have been to France a few times, have enjoyed some excellent meals,... More

We have visited at least twice per year for the last 6 years when staying in the area. The pizzas are the best locally, the 3 course menu has standard french favourites all cooked to perfection. The local desert of poire tapee is worth trying its tasty and you can buy some to take home to re create. There should... More

I asked the owner how big the pizzas were and I was told in a condescending manner they measured 33cms. We are not big eaters and having 3 slices each was enough so we announced we would be sharing a pizza with our own beer each. She told us she would have to charge us an extra 3 Euro for... More

I have been eating at this place with parts of my familie, as we couldn't compromise on any other place. We were seated in a very dark backroom of the restaurant and left after having eaten a Pizza without any outstanding merits, not hungry any more but also not to be repeated.

It's a modest Italian place, but we enjoyed a pleasant meal on a quiet evening in Chinon. I dared to have pizza with duck gizzards, and it was very good. But there are more "American" toppings available too. House wine was very inexpensive by the pitcher.

The restaurant only had about 12 tables. Service was attentive and personal. The food was not disappointing.

We couldn’t get reservations in the gourmet restaurant down the street, so we decided to give it a try, much to my son’s relief. There was a mix of French speakers and some tourists. The pizza was good and the local wines are worth trying. Good value for France.
