Looked like a nice time restaurant , nice outdoor seating , but it took some time before one of the 3 staff members saw me ( i was luckier than another couple who i think waited 30mins before they could order their meals ) . But what ruined my experience here was that in the menu they spoke of riz-de... More

One of very few places open on a Sunday evening. Menu was OK but our food was cold. Service was reasonable but given that other places were shut they seemed over whelmed by numbers.

Convivial setting in the town square on a warm summer's evening. Extensive menu, well presented food and fairly prompt service, although we did have to pursue the bill. A decent if fractionally pricey wine-list, My steak tartare was delicious and there was praise from the other three members of my family for their food, both for taste and portion sizes.... More

Lovely restaurant but food and service let it down. Our expensive steak was so rare we could not eat it. Wine was nice but over priced and the attitude of the waitress was disappointing.

Visited this restaurant on a sunday evening and took advantage of their great value 3 course menu for just under €20. Bar area, with restaurant at the back.

We just had a great meal here. I had a lovely light and tasty fish and my husband had a hearty lamb shank. The local wine was good, and the coupe de champagne appeared more expensive than most, but was a huge glass so good value. Staff spoke excellent English.

this restraunt has a great location in the middle of town, and a great host, but the food lets it down. always worth a visit for the friendly welcome and the great wine, but the food is really not that good, has braised ham, which really was grilled gammon in a horrid sauce, its such a shame eaten there a... Arrived late in Chinon after a very long delay getting through the tunnel. Our hotel (Diderot) recommended the Cafe des Arts. The service was charming and prompt; the food was delicious and my husband's steak was perfectly à point. The owner recommended an excellent (& not expensive) bottle of local St Nicolas and our evening was thoroughly enjoyable. Also nice... More

A pleasant visit on a balmy June evening. Location is great on the town square. Food was good but not spectacularly so. Reasonable prices. Service a bit off-handed. If we are back in Chinon again, would look around at all of the options in this area but Le Cafe des Arts would still be a possibility.

We loved sitting outside and not being rushed. We found the food to regional and extremely tasty. The 7 hour cooked lamb was delicious
