Very competent French restaurant

Well-prepared French dishes, with occasional flashes of real flair and creativity. Had the menu gourmand, with the foie gras, the turbot (delicious though could have cooked a minute less), the cheeses and desert. I chose the Savarin, drowned wonderfully in mead. They forgot to bring the salad; I... read more

Turning up at the last moment to a packed restaurant they nonetheless found us a space. Food is excellent, beautifully presented and thoroughly French. Do not come here if you don't like ducks though. The menu always includes duck (including foie gras) and the walls are covered with shelves of duck figurines. Wine list is varied and good value. Have visit this restaurant several times. As always the food and service was excellent. Good taste and presentation and just enough. The wine list has some good options at reasonable price. Top value

This was our best meal in France on this visit, and best service – so silky smooth and charming. Front of house was owner with husband as chef in the kitchen and we suspect one of the two waiting girls was her daughter. Le Bourbonnoux is a small but perfectly formed place - deleightful decor and i loved the collection... More

We went on the recommendation of the B&B owner and were not disappointed. Wonderful service, bilingual, superb food. You can't go away hungry.

Stumbled on this, as it is one of the few restaurants in the area open on Sunday evenings. The restaurant was full, and there were only two staff in the dining room, the owner and a waitress, so the service is a bit slow. Food quality and preparation very good, nice presentation; this is not a star-level restaurant, but one... More

Picture an amuse bouche of a cool pale green leek, then an entree of a technicolor three-legume terrine with artful displays of bright green peas, then a done to perfection cut of succulent beef followed by a nougat and creme anglaise desert. Or perhaps try a entree of cool asparagus soup with truffles and white asparagus on the side followed... More

Having come from the land of super-portions, it was great to spend my first evening in France at a restaurant where the emphasis was on taste, not weight. We rolled in late, even by French standards, but the cook and server welcomed us happily, fixed us up with a good bottle of wine and let us dally through our meal.... More

We speak little English and they went out of their way to assist us in choosing a meal. The food was fabulous and beautifully presented.
