A real find!

Well, there we were in Bourges trying to find a decent restaurant on a Monday night, which, based on previous experience, can be a bit of a challenge. It proved to be so again. We tried a couple of the best rated restaurant on the Trip Advisor website but both were closed while a few others we... read more

We enjoyed the five course Gourmet Menu for dinner. Excellent value with well prepared dishes. Nice wine list at proper prices. Extra touches from the amuse-bouche to the unexpected treats with your coffee gives this restaurant more style points than almost all others. Service was very attentive and pleasant, dealing with our limited French without issue. A great little place... More

saturday night in...Bourges , classic restaurant with a sobre decoration, not very funny , but clean, and smily waiter for the order. french wise cooking (too wise?) duck filet with pears, chocolate fondant, good but a bit sad. Prices are ok and conform , wine card also simple. I will try for a lunch

We were not expecting much, having not consulted Tripadvisor beforehand and living life at full risk - but while we had a pleasant evening and good food, I found it was not as good as one would expect from the surroundings and all the chichi. So we were slightly disappointed and slightly underwhelmed - as well as slightly surprised by... More

This restaurant was recommended by our Hotel owner. We had the fixed price Gourmet Menu which consisted of three courses, cheese and dessert. The 23 Euro bottle of Sancerre Rose' was recommended and paired well with our courses. Although we showed up with no reservation at opening time, we were promptly seated and treated as if we were long time... More

Dinner on Sat. night was not hurried but the service was prompt when needed. Entre was gazpacho centered by smoked salmon mousse covered with smoked ham. Not your usual gazpacho but very tasty. Charolais beef was perfectly prepared (mine was rare, wife's medium rare and there was a clear difference). Rest of the plat was good mixture of flavors and... More

(If it isn't I want to find it). Turned up at 7.30 on spec and got a table- on a midweek evening- and were lucky; the place soon had every table full. A lovely top menu; well priced; wine good but possibly a little expensive for France; excellent service and a thoroughly nice evening even down to the quiet background... More

The only restaurant we could find open on Monday evening but we weren't disappointed . Good food well presented and a great cheese board .

Turning up at the last moment to a packed restaurant they nonetheless found us a space. Food is excellent, beautifully presented and thoroughly French. Do not come here if you don't like ducks though. The menu always includes duck (including foie gras) and the walls are covered with shelves of duck figurines. Wine list is varied and good value. Service... More

Well-prepared French dishes, with occasional flashes of real flair and creativity. Had the menu gourmand, with the foie gras, the turbot (delicious though could have cooked a minute less), the cheeses and desert. I chose the Savarin, drowned wonderfully in mead. They forgot to bring the salad; I couldn't bear to point it out to them.
