Pricey, but very good food

A very nice experience. This is a gourmand's restaurant. Lovely service and food. Amuse-bouches were tasty. Appetizers of mini onion tart and magret de canard were excellent as were main courses of (small portions) of St. Pierre and Lotte. Cheese tray of (mostly) local cheeses was great. Nice... read more

We wanted to note what a fantastic evening we had tonight at the petit bateau in beaugency. From the moment we arrived we were made to feel at ease (particularly as non-French speakers); we sat by the stream within what the beautiful town centre location. It was a really special final night to our holiday. The service was exceptional, no... More

The best restaurant in this wonderful village. The food is amazing, and so is the staff. No matter what you order, it is fabulous. My favority is the cantelope which has rum inside. This is a MUST!

This restaurant was recommended to us by or French host, they described it as being "Gourmand but not too expensive" and I'd say that's a fair assessment. We enjoyed a very comfortable three course supper of interesting, good quality French cooking. The menu offers a good choice of fresh ingredients that are well prepared, they pride themselves on their fish... More

This restaurant offers a wonderful dining experience. The menu is small - but excellent, we have visited several times each time the same quality of food along with excellent service in tasteful, pleasant environment.

Brilliant service and excellent small menu but be prepared to pay for the considerable pleasure! In pretty flower lined narrow road. Ideally walk but, if driving, park by the river and walk up Rue du Pont

Cheese selection was extraordinary. Lobster with potatoes exceptional and a superb salmon entree. Queue fish plat could be improved. Definitely the best in the area.

Sat outside the restaurant, above a small river running underneath you, we thoroughly enjoyed our dinner at Le Petit Bateau. The owners speak good English and helped us translate their delicious menu. We both enjoyed all of our 4 courses and they had a good selection of Loire wines. The cheese board is fabulous. Very good meal.

We ate dinner here on a weekend trip to the Loire Valley. It was recommended by a friend with local connections and by the hotel. It is indeed a lovely and very refined dining experience. The menu reflected the seasonal produce and was exquisitely presented. Portions are not hearty so you will definitely be able to sample three courses including... More

Unfortunately I did not enjoy my evening in this restaurant. On arrival I noticed that no radiators were switched on and the temperature was approximately 10C, cool for April 2014. When I asked the hostess to switch on the heat, she replied that it would take too long for the heating to have effect as it came from the far... More
