We were drawn to this restaurant by the magnificent aroma that was being emitted from the kitchen. We all wanted to try the vegetarian lasagna , which did not disappoint. Great flavour and taste. We loved the atmosphere and the fact that it was not at all smicky . The dessert was very very good. Such a pleasant surprise we... More

After several disappointing meals elsewhere we were attracted by the smell of garlic & herbs. Service starts at 7.30pm is attentive & friendly. Food was excellent & we will probably return. My 17yr old son said "if we couldn't enjoy that meal, nothing would please us!" Only reservation, no veg. We would have loved either vegetables or a side salad,... More

Our hotel in Azay Le Rideau, pre-booked our reservation here, as they didn't serve dinner themselves at their location on a Sunday. It was a lovely and extremely "typical" French restaurant. It is small, but we liked that as was very intimate. The food and service were wonderful and we'd highly recommend eating there. I will have to say the... More

Visited on a not so busy Saturday night. First of all, the chairs are all quite bizarre, don't suit many of the tables (too high or too low!) but at least since no one was there, we were able to find a comfortable chair/table combination Terrine entree was good but from here on in, food was quite terrible - as... We went here after having an excellent meal next door (expectations neutral). The service was attentive, the menu interesting and very French, bottom line, the food was very good indeed. We ate outside which had quirky decor and a sense of fun. We got the impression there is one person serving and one person cooking so can understand other comments... More

A sunny day at last so that we sat under a parasol at the back. Good service and excellent food. I note previous comments re speed of service; fine for us because not many diners but if only one server at other times I can see why there might be some delay. But certainly worth a visit.

We arrived without a reservation for lunch. Very attractive space, tasty and appropriately sized dishes and good service even though the server was clearly rushed. Would recommend after a trip to the lovely chateau

The quality of the food was good. It is an attractive restaurant, small, and intimate. But we waited 30 minutes to order dessert, and the server didn't come, so we paid the bill and left. We both had salmon for our main courses that was very very good, good wine and starters, but somehow the service evaporated for dessert.....

Recommended by our hotel. We ate here on a quiet Sunday evening in November. The menu was written on a blackboard on the wall. Nice selection of entrees and mains with a nice wine list. We had bread and butter pudding (Terrine au Pain Perdu) for dessert with crème anglaise. You can't pass that up.
