Delicious but be prepared to spend at least 2.5 hours!

Very attentive service, Haute cuisine, amazing food, sweets and great wine and cheese selection. Christmas dinners @ Euro 85 pp. Michelin Star restaurant. Décor very homely, can do with a revamp. Not suitable for children.

We had an excellent dinner at the Chateau de Pray. Service was excellent and was not rushed. The restaurant has a very romantic setting and we so enjoyed the gradual night fall. Particularly great was the cheese trolley and the soufflé made with blackberries. We were in France for 2 weeks and all meals were compared to the Chateau de... More

Located in the chateaux with beautiful decor. Excellent food and service but very, very slow meal on a weekday in off season. A three course meal took 2.5 hrs and we left before the third course (dessert) arrived!

Quiet dining and intimate. While we ordered three courses, we wound up having at least seven with all the little extras. There had to be at least 20 different cheeses offered for dessert. This is fairly expensive..$130 per person without wine. And the food is rich so we thought once was enough..but it was worth it. The wait staff is... More

We went in early September and were lucky enough to have great weather and were seated outside on a beautiful terrace. The service was outstanding, very well done. A classy place that still makes you feel very comfortable. We had the full price fixed menu and a very nice Pouilly Fume. Total came to 171 Euros, but it was absolutely... More

During our four night stay in the area, we went to three gourmet restaurants. This one was much better than Chateau De Chissay, but not as good as Chateau l'Orangerie. The presentation of the food at all three was exquisite. The taste at them was highly variable. Chateau de Pray was close in tastiness, but our overall experience was a... More

Although it was an expensive evening out, the meal and the experience was well worth it. We ordered the pre-fixe and everything was lovely. The meal took 31/2 hours, so it was more than just a dinner out, it was a cultural experience. Well worth doing for a special occasion - everyone should experience a meal like this in their... More

We booked a table at Chateau de Pray before we arrived in Amboise as we didn't want to miss out on a meal here. It was a 5 minute taxi drive from our hotel in Amboise, and that was 10 Euros (Sunday and evening rate). It was a lovely evening, so we sat outside and had a Cocktail Maison along... More
