This is a lovely spot down at the front of Amboise. The pastries are gorgeous and the coffee is tasty. There is a lovely lady who served us both times we were there- she was always busy but was helpful and happy and chatty. She made the place really. The first day we popped in was after visiting the chateau... More

I see there are several reviews of the food. I can tell you the locals do not eat here for the meals. First, you must spend time in the Loire Valley and Amboise in particular. See the royal chateau and Clos Luce, where di Vinci spent his last years. Then take a break and go to Madame Bigots for pastries.... More

Right in the center of Amboise. The quiche was excellent, the goat cheese salad spectacular, as were the the pastries, and the ice cream with a bit of whipped cream and a stick of meringue. And, According to a local, the best chocolate in town. A fantastic place to sit, watch the world go by, and get one of the... More

We went here twice on our recent visit to Amboise. The first was for breakfast, where we ordered a pot of coffee, hot chocolate, quiche, and croissants. The second time was in the afternoon, where we each had a piece of cake along with coffee. Everything tasted delicious. The cakes were layered with various chocolate creams, and delicate pastry. They... More

My husband and I got to Amboise in the late morning and stumbled on this patisserie in the center of Amboise purely by chance -- and I am glad we did! We had omelets for lunch the first day and an apple tart for dessert that was the best apple tart I had on the entire trip (and I had... More

We visited Patisserie Bigot twice and each time was a delight. On our first visit, the founder’s granddaughter put together a selection of chocolates for us to enjoy on the steps of the nearby chateau. It goes without saying that they were incredibly tasty treats. We later returned to enjoy an “expensive but worth it” hot chocolate (Chocolat à l’ancienne)... More

We only bought takeaway chocolates, but we went back again for a repeat the next day. The almond slivers in dark chocolate clusters are fantastic.

Can be busy, but they certainly do a nice job. They offered up nice salad and omelet that we enjoyed. We visited twice and they recognized us the second day with a greeting and smile.

warm and cozy breakfast/lunch spot with friendly service and DELICIOUS pastries and chocolates! We went during the winter slow season and the place stayed packed with locals--a sure sign that the food is good!

My husband and I visited this wonderful place every morning for breakfast while staying in Amboise. They have a lovely assortement of teas, and breakfast items. All homemade and with fresh ingredients. The pastry items were like artwork. Beautiful to the eyes and fabulous tasting. This is a 3 generation business that is not to be missed. If you are... More
