an excellent breakfast là-bás

I think that you only need to watch the pictures attached to know what I am talking about. Excellent place to have breakfast in Amboise.

The cappuccino is simply not a cappuccino and the sweets we had were good but not that great as we expected...especially considering how expensive it is. Not worth it!

A central fixture in town hard to walk past the window filled with croissants and other French Patisserie Staples. It would have been nice if they opened a little earlier than 9 am for breakfast

This is a great place to stop for a hot chocolate or one of the amazing cakes they have on offer. They also sell fantastic chocolates. It's not cheap but at least you know you'll be getting top quality fare. The only thing that lets them down is their coffee. Far too strong and not particularly pleasant tasting either. Perhaps... These are the best chocolates I had ever had the pleasure of eating. Now I am being sent regular shipments of them to the USA from Bigot.

The omlettes were excellent as were the pastries. Great french-press coffee brought to you in a pot. Waitstaff has limited English but our daughter is studying in France and was our interpreter. Menu is in French and English. The chocolate there is awesome - it is a patisserie, chocolatier and restaurant. Opens at 8 except Mondays.

We had a family selection and the chocolates were varied but all great quality, hand made. The orange slab was so perfect. Obviously not cheap but this goes to prove you get what you pay for.

Stopped here for lunch before visiting Chateau Amboise. Delicious lunch with many choices. Cannot say enough about the wonderful pastries! So many selections and each one prettier in appearance than the previous. Our waitress was wonderful, very engaging. I am sorry to say I cannot remember her name, but I do know she has just returned from Ireland after a... More

france is a bit of a wasteland for those looking for good coffee. But you find it here. You can sit and have breakfast and even order an extra pot. The chocolates are fun too. We got chocolate covered carmels and they were great. The carmel was softer than those you get in the states even from the fancy places.
