Very nice place very close to the castle (but not directly across from the entrance) We sat inside their very lovely and sunny dining area and had some amazing beef tartar and delicious wine. Highly recommended!

My wife and I had the € 23 set menu and were very happy with both the food and service. In particular the young man who served us was very helpful with both the translations as well as the prompt service. The meals were by tasty and different and the atmosphere outside was great. For Australians who are not renowned... More

This is one to avoid. Despite a nice setting with an interesting menu the food and service are not good enough and are frankly poor quality. There are better options available a few yards further up the same street.

After a day spent visiting the castle and Da Vinci's house, we really hoped in a classic french brasserie to taste something of the place. First of all they quote on a chalkboard outside the restaurant '30 minutes express service'. We understood later that it means '30 minutes to have first course'. Service poor, slow, wine was served only with... More

This is the first restaurant on the road up to the chateau, just walk past. The quality isn't good no matter what it says outside. The are far better ones to go to.

the place was nice ; traditional onion soup , very good ; a hippo burger which was made of good minced meat, melted Camembert and a gentle tasting strips of beacon . The ceasar salad was plenty , but average . the was some doing with the waiters and the seating which was a little annoying .

I ordered a large salad. What arrived was inedible. A huge slab of luke warm melted cheese which was cold on one side slammed onto a piece of floppy toast on a bed of off tasting and brown edged looking lettuce and brown edged greens. Dressing was awful.

We stopped in to have lunch here and even though they were very busy, the service was excellent and friendly. The food was simple home style food in good quantity and excellent taste. The prices were a little higher , but in a tourist area this is to be expected. Overall I would rate this a good experience.

We went for dinner with high expectations after the previous night at Chez Bruno (fantastic cuisine) We chose Chez Hippeau for their advertised menu (that included onion soup... We all felt like having onion soup) and for the nice setting on the terrace . The service was fast but we were served the worst onion soup that we had in... More

I have to say, this surprisingly turned out to be one of the most delicious meals we had over our 2 weeks in France. The restaurant is nice, not too touristy, with decent ambience and friendly service. The menu is full of good, hearty meal choices, very homemade cooking kind of options. I ordered the pork chop with honey sauce... More
