Meeeeeaaatt.

This place sure knows how to do meat. We really enjoyed our meal here. The duck was one of the best I've tasted. Everything was very rich & heavy but hey, that's french food right. The service was lovely too. Definitely recommend.

The starter, a terrine de foie gras, was excellent, as was the sea bass that followed. I have to ding them a star because of the indifferent service, but it's worth a visit. Open Sunday for lunch, which not every restaurant is in Dijon.

Our French isn't great, but we do like tasty food...determined to avoid the 'chips and pizza' establishments, we sought out 'Le Sauvage' under recommendation of someone from TripAdvisor...so glad we did! The waiters are lovely and YES! they DO speak English!!!! We did try to speak French where we could - it seems only polite...the grilled fillet steak was wonderful,... More

Le Sauvage was one of the few restaurants open in August and was a tip from our B&B landlord. Not the best of choices. We did not reserve but they had a place for us, we ended up next to the toilets. Although it was on the menu as the Sunday special, the 3-course meal was not available. So we... More

Another victim of the lack of half star this time rounded down not up. My wife and I stumbled on this place several years ago and had a fabulous meal. So good we hope to find it when we returned several years later with our adult children and stumbled upon it again. Sadly it was not as either of us... More

We were visiting Dijon on a Sunday when many restaurants are typically closed. La Sauvage was open and had a great selection of meat. We got the cote de boeuf (which is ~1.4 kg!) and split it amongst us. It was very good. The salads we started with were very good as well. I got one with Brie and ham... More

Food was fine but not particularly distinguished - service somewhat rushed and patronizing. OK and nice to know it is an option.

All meat is grilled - we got to sit next to the grill and watch the chef at work. Food and service is perfect.

We enjoyed our meal as it was well prepared albeit a bit basic. The wine list was nice, but nothing spectacular. The room was homey, certainly nothing special. The staff spoke no English, but were for the most part patient. We were able to muddle through and had a nice, if not very good meal.

The restaurant specializes in grilled meats but serves other dishes. My wife prefers fish and ordered the bass, whilst I ordered the rack of lamb. Both dishes were perfectly cooked, although I would have preferred a little more seasoning on the lamb, which was nice and tender. There is a large selection of good wines, both by the bottle and...
