Visited this restaurant last year, and this year come again. Still, a local restaurant without Michelin style, I like it part because of this. Come to a small town should enjoy a more traditional approach. This time, we get a English menu. Very busy nite at Friday, a night before Valentine Day, but they still not miss out your request... Arriving in Dijon on a Sunday late afternoon is not the best day to find a restaurant for dinner! So we were glad to walk past the L'Epicerie and get seated and served very quickly. The food was excellent, the service very friendly, and we were surprised to see how large and very pretty the interior actually is!

Pick the local dishes -- they have a little snail next to them. My friend got the salmon and I got the worker's lunch box (I think that's the translation) which is a beef stew, with a side of gnocchi in cheese sauce. Words cannot describe how yummy. We shared an apple tart that was out of this world. A... More

In the old town's delightful square, named after legendary French writer Emile Zola, this restaurant has all of Zola's best attributes. It's moody and sophisticated. Intelligent and charismatic. (And I got all that just from the decor). It's as though it hasn't been designed but it's just evolved over decades of intense political and social debate including many bottles of... More

We were excited by the menu options. The selection sounded wonderful, but when the food came, it just didn't match up to our expectations. While the food wasn't bad, it wasn't great either. It has a lot of potential to be fantastic, but currently falls short. Service again was good, but could be better. Friendly staff, but they didn't quite... More

To start with the positive aspects: you ca still eat quite good at l'Epicerie, quality of meat, cheese, vegetables is quite good, food nicely decorated, generous portion. BUT: this once small restaurant has lost his charme for getting so big that you feel like in an alpine hut in Austria, were you can also find good good, but it is... More

Get the beef bourginon. It is uniquely prepared but delicious (and this area is known for it). The staff was friendly and did they best to accommodate English speaking customers. I really loved this place! So cute and wonderful food!

We have been invited at this restaurant and we have not been disappointed. The weather was good enough to have our meal outside. Interesting place for a nice meal.

Had great expectations after reading some of the reviews here on TA and seeing the place when we passed by the evening before. Clearly, I should have read some more reviews and not paid that much attention to the average rating. Food arrived before my husband's beer. My steak was nice, husband's dish of sausage with macaroni and mustard sauce... More
