Hotel recommended, now guest recommended

I loved the option of having 3-4-or-5 courses. I got 4 and my friend got 5 and we shared his 5th course, it was the best one out of them all! If I remember correctly, it was a provencal-style mousse served as an intermezzo. I don't normally like anything with olives, but this was divine. The first... read more

This restaurant was recommended by the Michelin guide, also by our hotel owner. It's a modern bistrô, in front of the market, a region with a high concentration of restaurants in Dijon. I had scargots and the Boeuf Bourgoignaise, both traditional from the region. Both excelent. My wife ordered the 4 course dinner menu, it came with a fish with... More

Next to the Dijon foodmarket, designed bij local Eifel , indeed form the famous tower in Paris, you find the restaurants door to door. At Dz Envies it's always busy and especially for lunch on saturdays (ourt favorite time, as it feels like the weekend is here in person) it is a good idea to make a reservation. The food... More

The food was fantastic, so beautifully presented, like a work of art, flavours were superb. I cannot remember the last time I enjoyed a restaurant so much. Everything in this place seemed to have been thought out with such care and attention to detail. The staff were both warm and extremely professional. I want to come back and do it... More

A nice relaxed restaurant, tasty food but perhaps trying a little too hard and not quite hitting the mark. Unfortunately our chicken was slightly undercooked.

Une cantine chic, a contemporary bistro in a very urban setting in the heart of Dijon. Simple decor, casual atmosphere and exceptional cuisine at low prices. On the menu are all traditional Burgundy dishes, jambon persillé, oeufs en meurette, joue de boeuf à la Bourguignonne, authentic yet inventive, delicious with an expert touch. The pleasure is essential, a must if... More

Warm, welcoming and busy. Good menu with imaginative combinations. Quality produce prepared and presented with care and artistry. Wine list (presented on an iPad) provides good range of knowledgeably selected wines that are not at stellar prices. Excellent value for money. Will go again, hopefully for dinner next time.

My husband got Boeuf Bourguignon, said the sauce was terrific and the rest was good. No vegetarian choices, so I got pricey salad. It was OK, nothing special. Apple tart dessert was the worst we got in France, not worth the calories or money. Waiter stood nearby for much of meal, but plates sat empty for quite a while. DZ'Envies... More

Judging by the queue we thought it must be a good place. We had to reserve for a 10pm slot and it was worth the late dinner. The lobster salad was more than generous and the foie gras the best I have had in a long time. The dos cabillaud (cod) was huge and cooked to perfection. The joue boeuf... More
