Spent a lovely weekend in Beaune in late Nov. We stayed at l'Hôtel de Beaune who also owns this great restaurant. Like almost everything in France the menu is in French but the food was great once you got some help. Look out for the brilliant sommelier!

If you like to eat and happen to be in Beaune make sure to get reservations here. The food and service are great and the atmosphere is convivial. I like to eat good food but I detest a tense, snobby atmosphere. None of that here. You can tell that everyone takes great pride in the food and in creating a... More

One thing about France is that we've almost never had bad service outside of Paris. Burgundy is a particularly nice place. Le Bistro de l'hotel was the only exception to the rule. They weren't rude, they were just never there. After about ten minutes (at 2:25 PM, to be precise), a waiter took our orders; we asked for coffee while... More

A fine establishment but with a rather skewed self-image, the service here is simply superb. This was my third time eating here. However the entire package lacks a sense of occasion which leads me to believe it is well below par at this price point. With a starter of ceps (25 euro) and a main of cod at 28 euro... More

Very good looking restaurant that we were recommended to try. Service was fine and up to par with the cost. None of our party of four felt like the meal was that good. One order was returned because the steak was to tough to eat. My fish was just ok at best. Turned out being the most expensive meal we... More

We had free time for lunch on our own. We located to little sidewalk café in the plaza with a very good menu. We selected the local pizza -coffee pizza with local ice tea. They used fresh gurera cheese vs. mozzarella, and frees leaf greens for a topping.. It was a very nice relaxing lunch in a little sidewalk café... More

We finished our bike tour of Burgundy with a group celebration at this wonderful unassuming bistro, in a private room upstairs. We did not have access to the entire menu, but the experience could not have been better. We started with a house champagne, poured liberally to it set the proper tone. The wait staff was always attentive but not... More

A charming, white table clothed bistro, the waiting staff seemed interested and passionate about the food. The head waiter patiently described the menu to me and on his recommendation, I chose a tomato, basil (and bruschetta?) dish which was simple, light, chilled and delicious. My husband and I shared a side of veal which was carved for us at the table... More

An enjoyable evening with good food and wine had been expected. Sadly, this was not the case. Despite my fluent French, it was disappointing that the waiters continued all communication in English. They were always professional, but could have been more welcoming. Tables in certain parts of the terrace were very close together, which allowed little privacy for couple dining.... More

Charming staff, a pleasant dining room (although we asked to sit outside they refused us, saying they thought it was going to rain) in a nice location and a simple menu with the usual Burgundy classics. We chose the roast Poulet-for-two with potato purée and it was excellent, perfectly cooked and plenty of it although the dish of smooth, light... More
