A wonderful place for good eaters

We had the chance of eating in this lovely restaurant, and especially had a great time with the Chef (and his piglet hat :D) The food is gorgeous, definetly for pork amateurs. We felt so welcome, the atmosphere is one of a big family, the Chef reciting the menu du jour and its rules for the... read more

Surprisingly disappointed we left Le Goret yesterday. What would be a comfortable diner in a genuine French restaurant turned out to be a culinair disaster. The Boeuf Bourgignonne was cold and way too fat. The gigantic cote au porc could feed an entire village but did not match any of the side dishes. This restaurant doesnt earn any recommendation on... An authentic traditional restaurant serving fantastic food. Not sophisticated, but all the better for it. No starters, and a choice of only 5 main courses (all pork, and all explained by the Chef with genuine enthusiasm). What that means is that the food is superb. I had the côte de porc with an epoisse sauce - huge, succulent and tasty... More

I, along with two others came to this restaurant to have a meal. While none of us spoke French, the owner was very accommodating and sent all 3 of us a different meal from The kitchen. All three of us really enjoyed our meal and the staff at the restaurant were all very friendly. This restaurant appeared to me to... More

My 3 sons showed up for lunch and had an awesome lunch that they were raving about when my wife and I returned from a day of wine tasting. They loved the food and the gregarious owner and his wife who personally attended to them with aplomb and kindness despite their lack of French and his lack of English. They... More

-Greeted by the exuberant chef who also took our order with joy. He gladly took posed for pictures while in his pig hat (!!!) -Excellent wine list with affordable bottles given it's location -Huge portions, all excellent food. Almost all the menu is pork. -I had the pork chop with a side of foie gras. The pork chop was GIGANTIC... More

I tried this restaurant, highly rated by Tripadvisor. Very nice inside, very friendly, very well located but quite disappointing for the quality of the food. No starters, they serve only big combo-plates almost only based on Pork, nicely presented by the friendly Chef. But barely normal pork food with a nice presentation. Tried and shared some of the combos. Pork... More

Some sausages and unhealthy mix served at the price of a gastronomic dish. Friendly cook but it only help to deceive the customer into this genuine tourist trap. Worst value for price ever. I don't understand its high ranking on all internet review websites.

Pork sausages, good huge pork chops, oversize quantities, dripping with grease. Wine was poor. Expect to be treated as you'd expect in a Paris tourist trap. Maybe the patronne was just having a bad day and locals are treated differently of course. If you've got a huge appetite and don't mind being served bad wine you can eat for two... More
