Dejeuner Delicious

We chose Le Bistrot Bourguignon for dejeuner as we read their menu carte while walking by, and it had many good looking choices. We ended up ordering the formula dejeuner which was 14€90 and chose the Caprese salad (mozzarella and tomatoes) and salmon with risotto. Both were fantastic. I was going... read more

When we sat it was not busy. Waited a time for a menu. The waiter used an aggressive tone when we asked him for the bill. A shame, as is a lovely position.

Laid back décor and vibe, well prepared food (the snail apero is recommended, as is the Burgundy burger variant) and a host who wants you to enjoy your wine. Whilst enjoying a very acceptable Montagny 1er Cru (available by the glass) our host insisted I sample at least three reds before choosing a bottle - can't see this approach catching... More

During our week in Beaune, we twice had dinner at Le Bistrot Bourguignon. The service was fabulous (our server was very happy to make some child-friendly accommodations) and we loved the cheese platter and hamburgers. Relaxed, quirky atmosphere. We will fondly think back of our time here.

We visited this excellent restaurant in 2013 and had a fabulous meal. We returned to Beaune this year in early July and booked a table for 4. Our waiter was courteous and efficient and the proprietor JJ was at our disposal throughout the evening. His knowledge on wine was brilliant and his suggestions on some lesser known labels was spot... More

My wife and enjoyed a visit to this establishment recently. We tasted two excellent white and two red burgundy's which we shared, supported by a delicious cheese platter which included the delightful Epoisses du Bourgogne. The bar staff were were helpful and informative. However dinner which followed was a very different experience. (This was consistent with posts by others). The... More

I don't know if it was because we are young people... or because we are English but the service here was AWFUL. They ignored us when we came in so we sat ourselves down, which my boyfriend and I think may have been the catalyst to their disgusting conduct towards us but who knows. When asking for a menu (after... More

Skip the wine tours and sample fine burgundy wines by the glass here, including a couple of Gevrey Chambertins. Regional Beouf Bourguignon solid and seasonal Salmon excellent. Cheese plate selection a highlight-not to be missed. Friendly place. Ate there two nights in a row. Attentive waiters, warm atmosphere.

With starters at 8-9 euro and mains around the 17 euro mark this Bistrot offers average eats at a standard Beaune premium. However they have an excellent wine list and have many wines by the glass. Friendly owners work the room with aplomb while expect to see wine dealers and merchants flogging their wares to groups of visiting wine buyers... More
