Wonderful experience at a lovely little bistrot in Beaune. A locals place, full of friends catching up, and enjoying each other's company. We ordered the Beef Bourguignon and the Coquilles St. Jacques - both wonderfully prepared and very flavorful. Notwithstanding a bit of a language barrier, our server understood our wine preferences, and their selections were the perfect choice for... More

We stayed in Beaune just for 3 days but we went to this restaurant for brunch / lunch 2 times ! So you can imagine how good it is ! Escargots there are beautiful :) Oh they have a fairly nice service apartment for short term lease upstair ! Next time, we shall definitely give it a try.

Le Bistrot Bourguignon is the oldest wine bar in Beaune. It is also a proper restaurant and a jazz bar. The staff was very friendly and happy to welcome us even though we (two eager tourists who had just finished touring the wine market) showed up at 2 on a busy Saturday afternoon. We really enjoyed our genuine Kirs made... More

We loved being here and we understood that this wine bar was one of the first to be opened in Beaune about 20 years ago. Food is OK, wine is very good and we had a great time chatting to the owner that used to be a photographer.

What a delightful find! I stumbled across this bistro and was drawn by its plat du jour and colourful outside. Immediately I felt welcomed - not always the case as a solo woman traveller. This wine bar offers wine by the glass and a good range of it too. The waiters are knowledgeable and love their wine so it pays... More

We had lunch at this bistrot as we were looking for something simple and not too fancy. The place is cute and well decorated. It has a very warm atmosphere. The food was good. The one thing that I did not like is that we were rushed out. My plate was taken away as I was dipping bread in the... More

We were looking forward to an evening of authentic regional food and some live music as described in our guide book. The snails were just about OK, the beef bourguignon tasteless, and the wines were overpriced and only average. And there was no live music.Maybe it has changed hands recently, or they were having an off night..we did not hang around... We were traveling around France as we do every year. This year we chose the Burgundy region for two items: photography and wine tasting. For lunch one day we chose Le Bistro Bourguignon for lunch. What an incredible jewel, right in the middle of town! The lunch was just right and we ordered wine by the glass. I will not tell... More

Had such a fun night at the bistro Bourgignon....it was buzzing with people at the bar enjoying a wine (or three) and diners tucking in to generous plates. Wine list is extensive and wait staff knowledgable. Live music added to the atmosphere. Food was bistro-style and delicious. Not for a quiet romantic dinner but for a real taste of Burgundy... More

We went to this restaurant because it had been recommended in Lonely Planet. The food was fine, but expensive. We discovered a brasserie up the street where the food was just as good, the portions bigger, and the price much less. There are other restaurants in Beaune that have food as good, and are not as expensive.
