Nice food and professional service

We had dinner here one night. We paid a bit over 100 euros for a 3 course menu for two, plus a nice bottle of wine. It was good value for the money. Every course we had was elaborately put together and beautifully presented. The staff is extremely professional and service is very good, although... read more

Food was just ok. We had snails that had a slight dirt taste and the garlic butter needed salt. We ordered entrecôte but was told that they didn't have it but some other meat. One portion was so hard it was almost impossible to chew. When we told the waiter she got defensive. We wanted a really good wine with... More

We had visited this restaurant the year before and were looking forward to a return trip. The food on the whole was very good with one exception. The steak was over cooked. By itself not an issue but having to debate it with the staff on at least 3 occasions insisting my view was wrong coloured the whole evening. Maybe... More

Picked this restaurant through a combination of trip-advisor reviews and gut feeling. We were not disappointed. The service was impeccable; not over bearing and all were friendly. Although we are fluent in French, the staff clearly spoke English to a high standard. We both felt the menu offered a reasonable choice and the quality of what subsequently arrived was very... More

We happened to visit on a very hot day and got a table at the terrasse because inside there was not air-con. This was unfortunate as the terrasse is nothing special and it was very noisy because it is on the town's main peripheral road. We were seating seating. Moreover, we could smell the bad odour from the garbage not... More

What a wonderful way to celebrate and taste true French cuisine. The waiters are attentive and helpful. The food is delicious and decoratively arranged on quirky shaped white plates. The real difference between this place and others is all the complimentary taste sensations that they serve to delight your palate and allow you to experience more of their french delicacies.... Cheval Noir is spacious, bright and modern with sleek minimalist lines. We dined on their pleasant terrace only occasionally bothered by passing scooters. The maître d' was almost a caricature of cuisine snobbery, the waitresses pleasant. We were offered menus in both French and English. The food was excellent. The two separate amuse bouche we were offered were delightful, as... More

We had an enjoyable dinner with a variety of choices for starters and mains, plus a good selection of half bottles

The food is alright. But the service and decor lacks tremendously. There are better places in town. Busy road with ambulances, motorcycles, and trucks making it noisy. There's view of trash actually from the dining tables in the restaurant. Major problem!!

After extensive research for a restaurant in Beaune, we landed upon me Cheval Noir which seemed to be rated positively by fellow Trip Advisors. We were, however, rather disappointed by the meal and overpriced wine. We both took the menu printemps which consisted of tartar de thon, carré d'agneau, fromage nougat and two different desserts. We started off the meal... More
