we enjoyed an absolutely delicious meal on the Terrace. Everything from the tomato mousse and vegetable amuse bouche, starters of extraordinary coquilles st Jacques , fresh foie gras. The flavors of each dish were refreshing and balanced. The wines perfect and most important.y the service was delightful. Friendly, professional and the timing of the meal superb. Highly recommend a visit

Beaune is rightly famous for it's medieval roots and the gastronomic experience is very much classical French and Burgundian. The Cheval Noir lies just outside the town ramparts (but within easy walking distance from any part of the old town) and has perhaps more of a modern take on classic French cooking. It is certainly modern in terms of architecture... More

Walked in on spec for lunch with family...we pushed our luck as it was just before 13:30, but after the waitress got the nod from management...everything else was spot on. Went for a set menu, with a child's menu for our 4 yr old. Food was really good, very well presented, tasted great - thoughtfully done. Service was professional but... More

This restaurant came highly recommended to us by our B&B. Located just outside the city walls, it was a good choice for a Saturday night. They start by serving two complimentary sample appetizers that we're both very good. Then there is a long wait before your next course is served. This is France and they want you to relax and... We stopped in this restaurant because the setting looked appealing and the menu had some things we like. We got there right before closing, but they took us despite the late hour. We chose one of the prix fixe menus and it was excellent. Started with snails and ended with profiteroles. The bottle of Cotes de Beaune was at least... More

We have dined at this restaurant on two different vacations. Both times, the food was superb! Everything the chef does is so creative, but delicious. We had an amuse bouche: melon cream soup with bacon, caramel, and bread crumbs. It was absolutely divine. We opted for a dish that was not Burgundian at all: shrimp and scallops on black rice... During our 3 night stay in Beaune this was the best of 3 restaurants we had dinner in. The pre set 6 course menu we had as part of a group party was excellent as was the service, our only disappointment was that on a very hot evening in July the dining area lacks any air conditioning and there was... Loved this restaurant. Lovely outdoor patio, and nice inside too. The service was great and very helpful. They brought two small starters gratis, that were absolutely delicious, the home made foie gras was the best I had in all of France. We were too full for dessert so they brought a small chocolate sweet. I would definitely go back.

We visit Beaune usually each year to buy wine and enjoy the food. We have had mixed experiences but never here. This trip was as enjoyable as before, in fact considering the price it stood out as the best. The staff were great the food excellent and the choice of wines with the menu was well thought out and good... More

We went to this restaurant on the recommendation of our hotel. It was Sunday, many restaurants were closed in this very small town. We did not have high expectations as this trip to France was for the sole purpose of eating great food and we had been to several Michelin 2 star and a couple of 3 star restaurants. Boy,... More
