Lovely food, great service

Had a beautiful meal here, the service was efficient and cheerful. Will remember this meal for a long time. It isn't in the most attractive part of town, on the outside of the town walls, but it's pleasantly cool on a hot evening and nicely decorated - it's not far at all from the main streets and... read more

Good Rustic Burgundian food, service good, excellent wine list (obviously for the area). Average price, the chef came to our table and offered us a drink, I think he was the owner which was a nice touch by him, we we're drinking large amounts of gevre chambertin which was fabulous!! Great cheese board, all in all a very pleasant experience,... More

Our guide suggested that we go here for lunch and we were not disappointed. The setting was very rustic, quiet, and relaxing. The staff was very attentive and the food was great. We would go back.

Our first introduction to Burgundy cuisine and we liked them all. My favorite was the amazing Foie Gras pate.

This is a relatively inexpensive, second-tier, restaurant in a city of far better choices. The food was not bad and and pretty much what one might expect from a menu in this price range. Our unhappiness stems from the service and attitude mentioned by a few other recent reviewers. As tourists, which, I believe accounts for at least some of... More

The Caveau des Arches was recommended to us at a winery we visited. Unfortunately, it was closed both Sunday and Monday, but when we finally got there, we were very positively impressed. Try one of their menus - everything we tried (boeuf bourgignon, volaille a l'epaisses) was excellent. The wine list was amazing - from simple wines all the way... More

We were so looking forward to this. Chose the restaurant from a large list of possibles It's a beautiful setting and looks impressive but 1. The service is perfunctory and patronising in a way I had thought had largely disappeared even in France 2. The amuse bouche were good, but the set menu was so ordinary! A terrine that we... More

Visited this restaurant on a Thursday lunchtime, on the recommendation of the current Michelin Green guide for the region. We were the only customers. Brightly lit and quite attractive vaulted interior. Shown to a table and given an a la carte menu but no menu de jour as expected. When we were not offered this, we left.

Wow what a disappointment. Atmosphere would be lovely if not so brightly lit. Service very lacking and patronizing. Unused cutlery from tables was returned to baskets to be re-set!! Beef stew was all fat. St Pierre fish was size of a minnow ! Felt like a factory. Ugh

The 4 of us arrived at 8:00 pm with no reservations so we decided to have a bottle of wine in the lounge (on the menu outside the restaurant, it stated clearly the lounge is exclusive for diners only) and the manager (we guessed) was serving us and a few other guests. We were promptly seated at 9:00 pm as... More
