Wow

We arrived in St Malo expecting to go to a restaurant that overlooks the harbour (the Corderie) but It was closed. This bistro was just down the road....it was not in such a good location, but wow, what a find. We largely sick to the menu du jour and had a totally fantastic meal in a busy... read more

The place looks and feels like what it is - your average corner cafe. Nothing bad, but nothing exceptional, nice service, simple dishes. Go there if you stumble upon it, but nothing worth a detour.

but the owner completely blew it, so I get a perverse pleasure in giving him his first "poor". I am hearing impaired and got in a muddle thinking he was talking to me when in fact he was dealing with our neighbouring table over a bottle of wine. This provoked a tirade of petty insults - handing my wife a... More

Having driven from Niort my wife and I had plenty of time before catching the ferry to Jersey and on TripAdvisor we noted this was well recommended. The Bistrot at L'Anglet is about a mile walk from the ferry terminal but the weather was perfect and we needed the exercise. We had the set 3 course lunch, just delicious.

A very nice resturant in a suggestive bay of Saint Malò. The resturant is very little therefore book in advance is suggested, the atmosphere is very nice and friendly. The menu is vary with fish and meat, wonderful dessert expecially the cafè or thè Gourmet. One of my favourite in Saint Malò!

After consulting Tripadvisor for good food out of the walled city, we ventured here. The service location and food were excellent. Not cheap but very good. The mains are "uge" and will satisfy most. We had three courses with no regret. Very fine cuisine. Worthy of a star at least.

A further visit and just as good. It doesn't look much from outside, but the food is great, light, fresh and a million miles from "catered" -we enjoyed a crab starter with summer (sun) veg, Lamb shank, John Dory (fish) with two types of Asparagus and some lovely salted caramel ice cream, to name part of the meal. If the... More

Our B & B recommended this place for dinner. We loved it. Not the easiest to find but worth trying! Excellent French fish prepared beautifully. Open kitchen so we could watch them do the preparation. Would definitely go back if we are in the area again!

O.K. it is not a 'Grand' dining room but the quality of the food and service that we enjoyed on the 7th March was top. There is a choice of good value set menus or the Carte at lunchtime, in the evening just the Carte. We dropped by late lunch to make a reservation for that night. The menu was... More
