Recently did a day trip to St Malo and had read some good reviews about this place and decided to try it. The staff were helpful and did help with menu translations. My daughter and I went for the cheaper lunchtime menu whilst my husband and son went for the dearer option. The starters were nice but not outstanding my... More

When we arrived we were vaguely pointed to a table, I asked if the restaurant owner if this was the table that she was referring to at which point she murmured something under her breath, I ignored this and went to seat at our table. From which point we were then served by the waitress which was much more friendly... More

We recently stayed in the Saint Servan part of Saint Malo and knowing the area and restaurant previously, we went to this place for dinner on 2 occasions. Overall both times the experinece was very good and we both chose from the set menu's (swapping courses over). The nine oysters were great. Very happy with this as a 'safe bet'... More

Just a little list of what happened to us in this restaurant; it's up to you to decide if that's a normal behaviour: 1. There was a sign outside, showing a special offer for an entrée and main plate for 15 euros, or 20 for the same plus dessert; the problem is that when you sit inside, this offer is... More

A slightly different range of dishes marks this place out from the many other good restaurants in Solidor. This was the only place I saw that had abalone on the menu. The manageress/waitress was friendly and helpful.

Enjoyed it so much the first time we returned for the plateau de fruit de mer the next night. Great view - I had the catch of the day first night. Good fresh food at reasonable price (wine too) with a great view.

A truly warm welcome and excellent service at this delightful small restaurant overlooking the river. The lunchtime set menu was excellent value and a varied a la carte mainly seafood. A resourceful and creative presentation. Highly recommend.

Ate here with friends. Staff helpful and attentive. Nice fresh food, good selection of sea food in comfortable and relaxing environment. Reasonably price . Would eat here again, good set menu and a la carte . Easy to park, near ferry port and out of hum drum of st Malo.

La Cale was recommended by our hotel, if you don't speak French don't eat there. We have never been treated so badly in a restaurant and we have traveled all over the world. As soon as we asked if they could help us with the menu they had a terrible attitude. We managed to order one starter and two main... More

First evening of a sailing trip back to Britain. A short walk from the harbour side of St Malo took us to the front here, overlooking the Rance and the Tidal Barrier. Lovely location. The staff here were very tolerant of our English and we had a cheery time. The seafood soup was, by the mighty standards of us two... More
