Very good.

Small, full, room with low ceiling, but mercifully not too loud (likely because all the other diners were French, not American.) Very good, creative food and reasonably priced wine list. We were very satisfied.

Had a fabulous meal at this restaurant the starters of Foie Gras/Bouillon Thai (Foie Gras in Thai Broth with crunchy vegetables) was absolutely delicious as was the Noix de St Jacques, cèpes, châtaigne (Jacques scallops , porcini mushrooms , chestnuts). For mains we both had pigeon which tasted divine and just melted in the mouth it was so tender, everything... More

Ate here one evening while in Rennes. When we arrived it was very quiet. The dining room is small but charming. The food was excellent, not huge portions but very tasty. By the time we left the restaurant had filled up and had a very cheerful atmosphere. Would certainly go back if in Rennes again.

The menu isn't huge but the quality of the food certainly is at Les Carmes. I woud have no hesitation in recommending as a venue for business dinner with customers. The restaurant also gave us more private area of the restaurant which allowed for a good evening with customers. Food highlights: St Jacques, Supreme of Pigeon and the deserts were... More

I love their food! I had the pleasure to dine in Les Carmes couple times already and every time they deliver what's promised. This is my place to go for special occasions. I love that the food can look so beautiful and taste so good. This time we took the Introduction Menu with the starter choice between whiting fish with... More

Myself and my partner went for a dinner in Les Carmes when we were visiting Rennes during the summer. We enjoyed everything from the first moment! First of all - the decor: warm and inviting (especially the set up outside, where we decided to have our apperitif). The restaurant itself was spotless clean and nicely decorated, giving relaxing ambience to... More

After the good experience of last time we have revisited the place We have enjoyed again. A short menue covers all fresh ingredients The service was ok only with the desserts we had some feeiling that they are not upto the place. They were not bad at all, but not upto the place. The room directly facing the entry was... More

This is a very simple understated room allowing for a relaxed but elegant meal. The food all the way from the amuse bouche to the dessert were all inventive, fresh, tasty and nicely presented. The scallop lasagne was gorgeous and the foie gras some of the best I've had. This is very good value for fine dining.
