This restaurant has only 20 covers and is tastefully decorated. The menu choice is limited and as a solo traveller, the meat dish on the menu Breton was for 2 people and therefore I had no choice. I think they should review the menu options to make sure the single traveller is catered for. Tables for 2 would also both... More

We went to L'Ambroise for lunch in August 2014. From the moment we walked in we were enchanted. The dining area is like an exquisitely decorated living room. We loved the fresh green and white table setting and the beautiful white flower arrangements The wine matches suggested by the staff were spot on. The mother and daughter serving team were... More

A quiet location, a small intimate restaurant, perhaps a little too quiet for my liking but a great wine list, superb food, beautifully seasoned, a chef who blatantly knows what he's doing. some spectacular dishes, the tartare of dorade was fresh inviting, and was demolished, the foie gras and I'ts accompanied Brioche, were amazing and the pigeon done in a... Very nicely prepared fish, fresh and original. The Sancerre wine, organic, was lovely as well. We loved the amuses bouches. Who would have thought that a strawberry-tomate gaspacho worked well with a semi raw tuna? Lovely and original flavours. No, it is not meant for people who want a pound of microwaved food of dubious origin in their plate. It... More

We went for the e68 pp New Year lunch menu (4 courses). The GOOD: - great desert (three types of complementary chocolate flavours) - really imaginative and charming decor - 2 starter and main options (rather than just a set) -several items complements if the chef (amuse bouche, after chocolates and taste cleanser) all done to high standard The BAD... The only Michelin rated restaurant in the Quimper area, it was a must go. Unpretentious on the exterior and easy to miss, the restaurant inside is very petite, and glows with soft suffused lighting and atmosphere. Service by, I assume the proprietress, is unassumingly polite, and on our evening prompt. This restaurant is rated one star. It is hard to... More

We had agreed to visit this place while on hols, and after getting engaged in Brittany, this was the place to celebrate. There is a €27 3 course menu which represents good value, though as the web site example didn't appeal, I had already bitten the bullet and decided off the a la carte. In fairness, on the day, the... A tiny restaurant (and all the better for it) in which charming service is accompanied by excellent food. Fish features as you would expect in Brittany and was super fresh. Food was delicate and refined as befits a Michelin star style of cooking. Wine was a little limited for cheaper bottles but a€30 Cote de Provence was excellent. Interestingly, older... More
