Very good but not the best

It is well worthwhile going here just for the medieval atmosphere, I mean genuine medieval. The service was brisk and the food was good, although my choice of scallops in orange sauce didnt quite float my boat

OK, so we don't speak too much French but enough to order and know we were enjoying superb cuisine in delightful surroundings. We enjoyed 3 splendid courses with drinks - all for around £50 including gratuity which seemed like money well spent. The ambience of the place and well organised staff enhanced the experience. Would recommend thoroughy

For this restaurant you have to book. The food is nothing special, and the service is slow. There are not many fish restaurants in Dinan, this is one of them in the centre of the town. We were disappointed. I had the fish my husband the kidneys. He had the oysters as a starter, I had Foi gras. The deserts... More

This restaurant was recommended by our Hotel Concierge in Dinan and we were luckyto be able to get in since we did not have a reservation. I would highly recommend to reserve a table early on. We were 6 people and each had different meal and every single one of us was super impressed by the presentation and quality of... More

We ate here one evening from the 28 euro, 3 course menu. There was plenty of choice for each course, desserts needed to be ordered with the other courses as they were freshly prepared. The service was excellent, helpful and unobtrusive. The food was superb, beautifully presented, none of our party had any complaints. Booking essential.

My husband and I found this little gem of a restaurant by chance while walking & exploring Dinan. The building and atmosphere was so authentic being in one of the older buildings in the town. The wait staff was friendly, professional & accommodating. And the food. . . Amazing! I love french food and I was not disappointed from my... More

It's a wonderful building and was recommended to us due to its' history and ambience. We stopped by on a Saturday night on Easter weekend expecting full bookings. It was quiet at 6.50pm but we booked a table for 8 and the maitre she' was excellent. When we returned it was packed with people being turned away constantly. We were... More

We visited Chez la Mere Pourcel on a rainy Saturday lunchtime. We were not actually planning on having a large meal but the menu was so tempting we couldn't resist going in. The restaurant was busy but we were given a very friendly welcome. We only ordered a main course but the drinks came with an amusee bouche of pate... More

We had a really enjoyable meal here. The food was great as was the decor. We had no language barriers but we do try to use our bad French as much as possible. We liked this place so much we booked New Years Eve there.
