Lovely friendly restaurant with excellent food

This little restaurant is a little out of the centre of Dinan, but easily walked in a few minutes. The evening we went was cold and wet and we had our aperitifs by a roaring log fire, which was a lovely start to the evening. The dinner was first class especially the starter I had of foie gras and... read more

It may not look much from the outside, and needs a little walk away from the main part of town, but it is worth it. We would not have found it without Trip Advisor. The welcome inside was warm. The selection of food on the buffet was excellent and meat cooked to our taste. At lunchtime, there were local people... More

If you go to Dinan, definitely visit Le Saint-Louis. Chef/owner Stephan opened this charming resto 3 1/2 years ago and will continue to find success. The stone covered walls and beamed ceiling are only about 100 meters from the Chateau and Museum of Dinan. One of the noted starter courses is a buffet of salads, seafood and charcuterie. Though tempting,... More

Lovely old building sympathetically restored and comfortably furnished. A little out of the way, but only a 5 minute walk from the main street in the old town area, it was so worth the walk. We choose the menu Dinanaise - fantastic value at 21€, it included an aperitif and a glass of wine, excellent choice from a buffet of... More

We enjoyed our dinner at this lovely little restaurant so much we went back again the next evening. The starter buffet is superb with so much choice including shellfish perfectly cooked, pate, cold meats, salads and so much more. The main courses were succulent in a typically French way. And there was so much choice of deserts that it was difficult... More

We ate here based on previous trip advisor reviews. We were warmly greeted by the owner/chef, Stephan. The building is amazing. Formerly two houses now joined together, it was at one point a hotel and stables, and most recently a wine store. Beautiful stone walls, and a beamed ceiling. Stephan and his wife are the owners, although she is currently... More

We had a great meal here last year. This year, the buffet of starters was lacking and not particularly fresh and the main of roast chicken was so dry it sucked all moisture out of my mouth. To top it off, the creme brulee was like wallpaper paste. The host is friendly, but not enough of a redeeming feature to... More

We found Le Saint Louis by accident and were warmly welcomed by the proprietress. We had the varied buffet starter with its home-made and tasty pates, shellfish and a really excellent gazpacho soup in a glass. The choice for the entrees was simple but everything was well-cooked and appetizing. The home-made puddings were a delight and all at a very... More

My wife and I chose this restaurant purely on tripadvisor reviews. And with over 180, and fourth in the list felt it was worth a shot. It was to be our special meal of the holiday. Frankly we found it to be average. The buffet starter whilst value... Only ranked slightly higher than the salad bar at a Pizza chain.... More
