This is the 1st time we have visited although we have tried many times, for whatever reason previously they were closed or full which is a good thing. Try to book early so you can get on the deck, especially at the edge over the actual river.

Based on reputation over many years, we wanted to try this restaurant. Yes, the setting is lovely. However, for what turned out to be the most expensive meal during a 3 week holiday, it was spoiled mainly by the service and obvious attitude that it was living on past glories and no longer really cares. a real shame. We arrived... More

L'Atelier Gourmand sits over the lovely river flowing past Dinan and we were placed at a table for two right by the window. What a romantic setting. Tables were very close to each other but we didn't feel crowded or intruded upon. In fact, we had a bird's eye view of what everyone else was eating - interesting for us... More

Be careful if you book this restaurant you will have any tolerence! After 5mn delay you will wait 30mn to get the menu, revenge from the owner!! What a silly situation! Due to this lack of profesionalism we decided to leave the restaurant!

Delicious food from the Brittany region, including seafood and mussels. This restaurant is aiming at the higher end price wise but the quality of the food and choices of wines was worth it. It's a small venue to making a reservation is essential. My only negative comment was that service was a little slow.

We are 'locals' and went for my birthday, a little wary as the restaurants in the Vieux Port often have slightly lowered standards because it's a tourist trap. Staff attentive and sometimes dry and funny. portions were substantial. main courses not particularly innovative but good meat and well-cooked - we had veal in cheese and ham and house brochettes -... Recommended by reviewers and another local, we liked the proximity to our location. We booked the previous night which I would say is a must. Very small and not too many tables but the floor area will double when the terrace re opens for summer. The food was pleasant enough but not outstanding. Wine was expensive too with a limited... Welcoming restaurant with staff very willing to translate the menu for us. The food was very tasty with generous portions - worth bearing in mind because you must try their famous tarte tatin!!
