For my wife's birthday, we decided to come into the old town of Concarneau for an evening meal, as we had some recommendations from the guidebooks that this is the place to come to for a special meal. We were seated straight away and the waitress was brilliant. She could speak excellent english, but encouraged me to use my french... More

On our first day in Concarneau we were looking around for a nice location to have dinner. This is a busy pedestrian street with a great buzz about it. There are many eating places but we wanted to try out somewhere we hadnt eaten in in previous years. We decided to try Le Penfret and werent disappointed. We sat outside... More

Having eaten well in the restaurant of the Hotel Oceanides on the evening of 30th June and lunched in the Admiral on 1st July, we had a couple of French culinary experiences to draw upon for this meal. The restaurant is OK but, given it is in what Maigret called the old town, in his novel The Yellow Dog, and... More

We decided to have some moules et frites here before venturing back to our Gite. Very very nice, as was the cheeseplate. Service was friendly too. Great spot for people watching!

Well oiled machine. Does exactly what you want it to do on a holiday day trip out. Quick efficient service. Good food. Decent house wine. Excellent provision for families ( good highchairs and baby changing facilities) Nice range of typical seafood dishes. Clean and good quality. Nothing extra special but it does what it does really well and for that... More

Have been coming back to this place regularly and at different times of the year. It never disappoints. Even in the rush of a Friday night in August the service is friendly and attentive. The location is superb and design is traditional rather than quaint. The food is excellent value, a creperie but with enough extra to keep everyone happy... More

Had lunch here, chose fish soup and then filé mignon. Both were disappointing. Will not come back, even if staff were friendly.

Excellent food at a reasonable cost with attentive service in a small restaurant located within the castle boundaries. Well worth a visit.
