We were not disappointed....

...we stopped here purely by chance. Looking for somewhere to eat, this place had a table outside that could seat five and we decided to stop. (One nice thing about this restaurant is that there are no cars passing as you eat outside). The meals were surprisingly good for a "tourist" restaurant... read more

There were people queue outside when we arrived at the charming restaurant, within the walled city, luckily, after reading the reviews on tripadvisor, my wife had telephoned earlier and made a reservation. I had the fixed menu with local oysters and my wife had the Coquille Saint-Jacques, both were delicious, naturally accompanied by Breton Cider. There was great ambience and... More

Managed to catch the lunch service for a late meal and glad we did. Lovely little place of stone and dark timber with anything from crepes to a la carte, all sourced locally. Had the set lunch of soupe de poissons, fillet mignons de porc, and a few ciders to wash it down. Also had a charcuterie plate to share... More

We ate here on a rainy day and it was a pleasure to sit down and enjoy good food. We had a fishy menu of soupe de poissons and grilled sardines, both local produce and both very good. The service was efficient and we really enjoyed our cafe gourmand which consisted of espresso with three supposedly small puddings which were... More

I have been there with my colleagues in May 2015 for a business dinner. Great atmosphere, friendly & smiley staff, different dishes, delicious food, I can recommend the sea food dish, great location on a small island and fair & reasonable prices. I'd recommend and will come back next time.

For my wife's birthday, we decided to come into the old town of Concarneau for an evening meal, as we had some recommendations from the guidebooks that this is the place to come to for a special meal. We were seated straight away and the waitress was brilliant. She could speak excellent english, but encouraged me to use my french... More

On our first day in Concarneau we were looking around for a nice location to have dinner. This is a busy pedestrian street with a great buzz about it. There are many eating places but we wanted to try out somewhere we hadnt eaten in in previous years. We decided to try Le Penfret and werent disappointed. We sat outside... More

Having eaten well in the restaurant of the Hotel Oceanides on the evening of 30th June and lunched in the Admiral on 1st July, we had a couple of French culinary experiences to draw upon for this meal. The restaurant is OK but, given it is in what Maigret called the old town, in his novel The Yellow Dog, and... More

We decided to have some moules et frites here before venturing back to our Gite. Very very nice, as was the cheeseplate. Service was friendly too. Great spot for people watching!
