Good restaurant serving both sea food and ordinary cuisine

We ate at the Le Penfret twice during our recent stay in Conarneau, and on both occasions enjoying a really good meal. There is plenty of choice, including a lot of sea food items, but also things like steak and other non sea food dishes. The price is reasonable perhaps about 70 euros for two... read more

Such a choice of eating places in the old part of town. We chose this one as it looked quite busy. Very pleasant apart from the screaming twins(English of course!) Food was excellent and service was really good particularly as they were so busy. Would recommend.

We visited Le Penfret last year and enjoyed it very much so decided to revisit this year. Unfortunately not the same result. Firstly we were shown to a table for two which with hindsight we shouldnt have taken. We were close to the door which resulted in too much traffic of both staff and customers. Service was efficient but food... More

Went here on Saturday midday. Only place in the Ville Close that offers seafood platter. I ordered the Assiette and it was just what I wanted. And the langoustines were perfect, just perfectly cooked. They only serve small ones in Brittany, and the Bretons are the only ones who know how to do it properly. Great meal with very good... More

We have visited South west Brittany many times over the years, usually staying on campsites, and we always try to visit Le Penfret during our stay, even though this may involve a longish journey. This year we visited on Thursday, August 20th for lunch. Before we left home in UK we had decided to visit Le Penfret and indulge ourselves... More

There were people queue outside when we arrived at the charming restaurant, within the walled city, luckily, after reading the reviews on tripadvisor, my wife had telephoned earlier and made a reservation. I had the fixed menu with local oysters and my wife had the Coquille Saint-Jacques, both were delicious, naturally accompanied by Breton Cider. There was great ambience and... More

...we stopped here purely by chance. Looking for somewhere to eat, this place had a table outside that could seat five and we decided to stop. (One nice thing about this restaurant is that there are no cars passing as you eat outside). The meals were surprisingly good for a "tourist" restaurant, with all five of us more than happy... More

Managed to catch the lunch service for a late meal and glad we did. Lovely little place of stone and dark timber with anything from crepes to a la carte, all sourced locally. Had the set lunch of soupe de poissons, fillet mignons de porc, and a few ciders to wash it down. Also had a charcuterie plate to share... More
