It's not a michelin style restaurant, but you wount regret coming here. The simplicity and the whole setting did everything in this place. At a first sight it's located in the harbour area and looks a bit scruffy, but once inside it's a genuine crab-banging and oyster feast circus. We tried the oysters and the spider crab together with the... More

I liked the character service food and feel of this place. Good value, friendly and very tasty fresh sea food. We drank a good deal more than we ate but the crab and the rest was first rate. We stumbled upon le crabe-marteau as we strolled down by the water but it is well worth seeking out specially.

This place was excellent for myself and my partner. We were greeted with smiles when we entered and were sat. We were unsure about the crab meal to go for and luckily the waiter was kind enough to go through the options in enthusiastic detail. We had the Oysters to start, which were well shucked with no noticeable grit. The... More

I spent wonderful 90 minutes in this restaurant with great food and atmosphere. I've ordered admiral dish with big crab and langustines and together with three dips and boiled potatoes itbrought a real feast to my stomach. The only thing i regret (but a very little) is lack of local beer, but i could understand as French are more focused... More

Excellent restaurant in Brest close to the sea port, it's actually much better in terms of quality than the one which opened in Paris. Personnel is really friendly, the lagoustine platter is huge and the crab very tasty

If you love crab like me, you'll love the homey feel of this crab restaurant in the water. the staff didn't speak any English to speak of, be were very accommodating and friendly. Everything was excellent and fresh. the crab was similar to Dungeoness but with a harder shell and smaller legs. the flavor was almost the same however, sweet... More

The crabs are huge and delicious . We were given an expert demonstration on exactly how to eat open a crab so you extract ALL the meat . This place is for fish lovers who want to eat in a very relaxed atmosphere on newspaper and hammers to smash your crab . Lovely time !

This place is fabulous - no menu, just a choice of crab, oysters or langoustines, served on a table covered in newspaper with bread, potatoes & homemade mayonnaise. There was no wine list either - rosé or white, full or half litre. There were bibs provided & a bucket under the table for the debris. Fabulous atmosphere, very relaxed, full... More

This is a old authentic fish restaurant by the docks, the fish comes from across the rd from fish market and local boats, there is no menu, depends on the catch of the day all the locals come here, tables are covered with newspaper with a chopping board in the middle with two wooden mallets and two long steel picks... I loved this place. The seafood is just great - don't miss the crab and the oysters - and the decor is rustic with a twist... they use newspapers as tablecloth and have a wooden hammer on the table for each patron, which is to be used to crack the crabs and lobsters. It's not tourist trap, plenty of local... More
