Great steaks, fish, fries and wine and service. Can't miss whatever you are looking for. So good went back.

Ordered their speciality. An entrecôte steak.... Great flavour beautifully cooked but for 18€ I was expending more than 200g if that... Good salad and a really popular place. Worth a try but cote de boeuf looks better value if you have a friend or lover

The restaurant was highly recommended by the manager of our hotel...Who didn't think we needed reservations. That was wrong, but we waited outside for 20 minutes or so with a glass of rose and a table came available. It is a delightful restaurant inside. Warm, red, wood, lots of pictures depicting Basque life. We had a splendid evening...had the charcutrie... More

The good was very good, no wonder because the restaurant is ahead of the daily market. The service is polite but tends to forget orders and the price has been 25% above restaurants with the same quality.

Kako is a very popular traditional Basque bistro with the locals in Saint-Jean-de-Luz. Our hotel strongly recommended we go there, and we did - twice. They serve traditional Basque dishes, including squid (chipirons), merlu (a white fish) served Spanish style, and a side of beef that is for two with frites (huge plates!) We had a whole sole sauteed with... More

My husband and I took a day trip to St Jean de Luz on a rainy May day for a spot of lunch. We stumbled across this restaurant after recommendation by a local shopkeeper. We were not disappointed. We arrived without reservation and were fortunate that there was one table left so we took our seats. It was a small... More

Seemed very popular with locals and found out why. Excellent gazpacho for me and avocado prawns for Madame. Monkfish delicious and excellent portion with superb vegetables. Madame had veal which turned out to be Axoa. Happily helped her finish it! Too full for dessert. Only criticism is uninteresting red wine by the picher. Obviously talented chefs and warmly recommend.

Really good ambiance in this restaurant. Best is to start the aperitif and seat for food after. Only risk is Aperitif might take a while as the bar and tapas are really good. Great cote de boeuf. Good fun

Just finished eating here for 2nd day in a row. Our hotel, Relais Saint-Jacques, recommended this which was close by. The fish was the freshest & most delicious we have had in years & the vegetables were also fresh & expertly prepared. Fun atmosphere & great service by all. The plate of the day was a great bargain & just... More

Food average to good but atmoshere great. Funky decor, super pro waiters, sardonic barman, mix of young crowd, locals and tourists We there in winter on the off chance and lucky to get a table; in season imagine booking essentiel. Prices ok by St jean standards; no michelin stars but a good night out.
