Always loved this restaurant and decided to return as a little treat.I was very sorry i had made that decision. The starter looked revolting,I returned it uneaten, the main course was ok just as was the desert.I thought I would try the coffee as it was always special with the little surprise treats, that was the only thing that hadn't changed. The service was... This was not so much a meal as entertainment. Surprises continually came to our table and we remember it more for the theatre than the actual meal. The food was good but, like every meal bar two we had in France at over 50 restaurants, they seem to have forgotten that vegetables are a part of gastronomy. You had to... More

Chez Ruffet stands out in this area of France. Having eaten there for lunch several times I have always had excellent food and service. The surroundings are classy but not too stuffy or formal. The lunches are excellent value...where else can you get a Michelin Star lunch for 30 or 45 euros?? Always interesting amuse bouche to start, and home... More

Decor out of date Needs cleaning Maybe some music? Better service from staff that does not smell of cigarette and better dressed! Food was ok but not michelin star rate Price is too expensive for this area and gastronomic level

We ate in several highly rated restaurants in southern France. Our best meal was at Chez Ruffet. The service is attentive and correct, but not stuffy or pretentious. The facility has a casual /chic appearance. We sampled nine different dishes and two wines. Not a clinker in the bunch - one superb dish followed another. I wish Chez Ruffet was... More

Nice room and very professional service, but what really stood out was the food. It wasn't just excellent ingredients exquisitely cooked - there was an imagination and flair on show. Each dish left me wondering how they did it. Langoustines with vermicelli sounded so dodgy, but was such an explosion of tastes and textures in the mouth. Special mention for... More

Incredible food and service. Always surprising and worth every penny. Go for lunch for michelin stars on a budget. They even throw in the wine
