This is a great fun, busy, noisy bistro. Very traditional - try the steak with Béarnaise sauce and chips and the lovely cakes for pudding. A great place for people watching, drinking good red wine and old fashioned French style.

I was in Pau last days and a friend recommended the place for dinner. Really good food nice place and the people ready to indulge your senses. Try a local wine together with the plate of cheese... Uau

We decided to have dinner here after it was recommended to us. It was a bit of a disappointment :- -Too expensive 77 euros for 2 courses for 2 people + 1/2 bottle of wine -Food nothing special No real problems with the food, but it was nothing special. The chateaubriand was overdone and the chips were very oily, the... More

We were directed to Le Berry by the French couple that we met at our failed visit to Les Jardins de Verone in Pau (I have commented separatedly about that bad experience). We enjoyed so much that we are so thankful to this failure. The ambiance at Le Berry is old charmy and authentical French, Most of patrons were locals... More

We were recommended this restaurant by Pau resident we got talking to at the swimming pool in the morning. He described the food as good with big portions and not too expensive, this is normally a description which would send us running in the opposite direction, however the man seemed very genuine and friendly so we gave it a shot.... this place was recommended by hotel, when we arrived was quite but quickly filled completely. Classic french bistrot food, steak frites and veal were delcicious. Service was quick and charming. Good value for what it was.

You can tell the minute you walk into Le Berry that it's run by professionals. So many new restaurants in France which have sprung up to cater for the explosion of demand trade on the "idea", the reputation of French food without the corresponding talent. I'm not referring to outrageously expensive Michelin joints but poorly run places, usually on the... More

Know the place for a very long time (30 years). Used to be good standard food... like many places, after having different owners, the place is no more as reliable as it used to be. And wewere told they don't take reservation with such an attitude, though it was about keeping a table for 10 mns (we were on the... More

Busy restaurant full of locals with a queue to get a table so we thought it would be good. Service was very quick and the staff were friendly but the food was terrible. We both had steak and chips which we thought was a popular/fail safe option but there was more fat than meat on the steak and the chips... More

With so many lovley resteraunts in Pau to choose from I suggest this as a fairly average choice. The food was ok, but could have been better. The service was a little slow, but that is generally the way things are in Pau. Had a steak which was ok, served with only fries, could have done with some additional trimming... More
