Out on business here in Pau, we tend to visit here because the food is consistantly good with excellent wine , Beef or fish the dishes are lovely, if having red meat try the local Madiran its wonderful or with a fish dish try Jurancon Sec which is a local dry white wine all excellent you wont be disappointed !

The food was good, but not outstanding. I was disappointed that several of the items that I wanted were unavailable that night. All the other alternatives happened to be more expensive. The wine our server recommended was alright, but nothing special. Service was very good. In the end, we ended up spending more money than we planned for an evening... More

We visited Pau on a day visit from the Pyrenees. The old part around the Chateaux is lovely with a clutter of nice looking restaurant's.We chose this place and had the €17 two courses. The food was excellent and the service was very good.I had mussels in ham with piquant peppers-sounds odd but delicious as a starter and we both had the... Impeccable service on the part of the gracious staff, two young women and a young lad who perform with style. Fish stew and a small steak in elegant presentations at a table on the terrace. There's lots of competition close by, but I'll be right back at Le Dauphin the next time I'm in Pau.

Le Restaurant Le Dauphin is one of many to chose from in Place des Etats, a popular section of Pau. While several local specialties are available, the overall menu theme is sea food. The dining room was warm and cozy on a chilly evening. In more temperate times a large outside seating area facing Place Des Etats is the choice... More

Situated just around the corner from the Castle and a perfect spot for people watching if you get a table 'al fresco' on the terrace. The food is mainly seafood and is excellent.

I visited Le Dauphin recently with a friend who was visiting and loves fish. The Trip advisor reviews were also good .The restaurant is very expensive by local standards. The lunch I was served advertised as 'Gambas (prawns) est St Jacques (scallops)' turned out to be one scallop, two prawns some overcooked rice and two pieces of salmon that were... More

Sitated near the Chateau of Henri IV, this restaurant excels in seafood. The oysters were plump and fresh. The cooked dishes were of a good standard and the portions were just right. The staff were friendly and very efficient and they were extremely busy. Wine was reasonably priced. Good ambience. Lovely dining experience. Make sure you reserve in advance because... More

This is a reasonably priced restaurant with good service and well cooked sea food. It is what you expect from a French provincial restaurant, but so often do not find in cities with plenty of tourist trade. Local Jurancon wines were not over priced (nor over-chilled) and the setting is delightful - and will improve when work on the neighboring... More

Found this place by chance, just walking around, and it looked just perfect for an outdoor evening dinner. Well, the food was absolutely scromptuous, so delicious I could have licked my finders, had I dared doing this in public. We were a party of 5 and we all loved our food and the staff was very kind and patient. How... More
