We loved the ambience of this place - really old and typically French. The set menu was excellent and very good value for money. However, we were a little unfortunate in our timing, in that a fairly large party of Americans had just arrived (presumably pre-booked) which slowed the service considerably. The establishment is owned and run by a young... More

It was Sunday night so many restaurants closed - came across here and it was fairly busy - it did look expensive but on reading the menu there was a very good set menu for €22 we went for this and it was truly fantastic - main course was duck and was superb - with a chocolate pudding for dessert... We have been coming to St Jacques over a period of about 12 years now. Most recently earlier this month. The food and service were, as always excellent. The restaurant has changed hands at least 3 times over this period, and we 6 were the only people lunching! Worth a visit. Lovely location, eat in the garden if possible!

Looks a bit more up market but don't be put off. The food was amazing, the staff were eager to please and the menu was a bit more exciting than most of the other restaurants. The price was not as expensive as you'd imagine. Excellent and would visit again.

We had a realy super meal here on Monday evening, before walking down to the river to watch the fireworks. Staff and food were wonderful. Thank you.

Noon in Bergerac and the heavens opened. Hey, that restaurant looks OK - let's dive in for lunch. And OK it definitely was. The dining area was cosy - perhaps room for 18 covers (there's also a courtyard for dining - but not in the rain!). The young waitress was very welcoming and was extremely patient with my poor French.... More

The chef is working only with fresh products of the season. He is very creative in varying traditional recipes in modern forms. He is working with a variety of herbs and spices, which makes every course very special. The service is very friendly and efficient. In the wine list, everybody can find his special wine. We recommend this restaurant strongly!!!!

We had a fabulous meal in le Saint Jacques, exquisite food in a delightful courtyard. We really appreciated the service and speaking with the Chef who is clearly enthusiastic and passionate about his food. We wish the restaurant every success.

We just loved this experience. The chef, his wife, the atmosphere, the food, the service. Can't say much more but a must visit for all in Bergerac. Gil and Ann Smith, Sydney, Australia.
