Very tasty food!

I had dinner here on a Wednesday evening. The looks are a bit deceiving from the outside, but they have an excellent selection of dishes on their menu. I had a starter with foie gras which was simple but delicious, and confit de canard as main course. The duck was prepared differently than you... read more

Located on the outer periphery of the historic part of the city, being on a main road. Whilst very welcoming and friendly is furnished with uncomfortable wooden café chairs and very small MDF topped tables. The restaurant is very small and unfortunately lacks any atmosphere at all in the evening, even mid week at 9pm when half full. The shared... More

Arrived at the restaurant at about 1:15pm on market day (Wednesday). Most other restaurants were full, but this one was completely empty - maybe this should have been a warning sign? Sat down outside and waited to be served. After about 5 minutes, a woman came out, looking us up and down with a sneer on her face, she asked... More

We had lunch at the Repaire de Savinien and had a wonderful time there! All products are of excellent quality, fresh and seasonal. I had the "oeuf parfait", egg slowly cooked at 68° which came together with anchovies, radish, fennel and fresh herbs. It was not only perfect but also beautifully presented. Then I shared a piece of iberico pork... More

This is one of our favorites in Bergerac and we've visited a number of times. It's always a fun adventure and often excellent. During the winter they featured some interesting special menus based on the backgrounds of the staff members (a charming crew, by the way), including a Laotian-inspired meal that was fabulous! The selections change frequently based on the... More

We visited this restaurant last night and were disappointed, having enjoyed previous visits to Les Etincelles, Vincent Lucas's other restaurant in nearby Ste Sabine. We were aware that this was his bistro style place and that it had been awarded a Michelin bib gourmande. My starter of rillettes de lapin was far too large and my main course of scallops... More

Vincent Lucas has a starred restaurant in the area and this is his simpler town bistro/resto. Had a fixed 3 course lunch for effectively 21 euros per head - escallope of foie gras; an outstanding "chicken sausage/quenelle" and desert - perfect ingredients; excellent taste and presentation and plenty of food.... Great wine list and super service. The restaurant is very... More

This restaurant has recently been sold (March 2014)however the new owner-chef is excellent. Sadly no more fabulous magret with the famous brioche however have just had a very delicious lunch with my husband......He had a very good asparagus salad whilst i threw caution to the wind & had new potatoes over a sort of morilles ragu.....SO bad but SO delicious!!... My parents have a holiday home in the Dordogne and we often venture into Bergerac to have a walk around the market. We regularly eat at Le Repaire de Savinien and have never been disappointed. The warm foie gras in brioche is to die for!!!!!!! As one of our friends said "You can die a happy person after eating there!!!"... More

I generally try to avoid eating 3 courses but the food here was so wonderful I just had to. The ambience was also good, as was the service. I friendly little place and enjoyed the food and atmosphere. Highly recomendable.
