Expensive but good

Lunch with friends (4 of us) cost 190 euros which was expensive for the area. Excellent quality, good sized portions and attractive restaurant, if a little tight. Special occasion restaurant.

Great value for a gourmet restaurant that you would not figure out if you just look at the entrance. The venue is warm and charming, service is attentive yet relaxed, perfect for a group of friend. Current menu with salmon and chipiron dish over risotto is just incredible, deserts are difficult to pick from and wine very reasonable in price.... More

We spent two weeks in France in November/December, in Paris and Pays Basque, and my husband and I both agree that this meal at Le Clos Basque was the best on the trip--and we ate at Le Comptoir in Paris--TWICE! (Not saying that wasn't an amazing place, too. It most certainly was!) There was, however, something about Le Clos Basque... More

My boyfriends family has been coming to this restaurant for a few years for lunch but it was my first time. There is a lovely terrace that is very private and the inside is cosy with very good art work that you can buy.My boyfriends mom likes quality food for her money so I knew we would have a delicious lunch... Friends who live in Biarritz told us how wonderful this 'Michelin' restaurant was. Our friends are known here and as a result we were offered a glass of a Bordeaux 'sweet wine' on arrival. It was a kind thought but a disgusting wine which set alarm bells ringing. Our friends, who claim to eat out a lot, are obviously not... More

We were expecting a classy meal with good food, wine and ambiance but were disappointed. There were too many tables packed into the room, our first 2 courses arrived very quickly and then service almost ground to a halt. Food was pretentious without being very good. Staff were very busy. Will not be returning

We booked for Sunday lunch during our six night stay in Biarritz and we were very glad that we had this experience. The place was packed (both inside and outside seating) and the two waiters did an amazingly good job considering how busy the place was. Its a place to take your time and savour the atmosphere, along with the... More

We went to La Clos Basque on our last night in Biarritz. I’d booked it earlier in the week and am glad I did as it was very busy with mostly locals & they were turning people away. We sat outside on the terrace as it was a very pleasant evening. The menu was entirely in French but with the... More

Honest food for an honest price, you have a menu at 26 eur , appetizer, main course and desert. I had a velouté of green peas with a touch of mint, haddock, and a chocolate dessert which I preferred to be endless, my compagnion had foie gras , merlu and risotto and a basque cake .Please do not forget to...
