Great little place

3 course menu of top class eats for €26. The most expensive white wine we could find was a nice Basque number for €22. Tremendous value for the quality. Some of the caveats in other reviews are on the mark: you really need to book; there are only 2 really busy waiters so they are not at your beck... read more

Worst restaurant experience ever. We made a booking a week before it was time to go and we had rather high expectations. As we arrived at 20.30 the restaurant was busy and there seemed to be a shortage of waiters. After being seated at our table we wait for more than 20 minutes and without a sign of being noticed... Friday night, full house - too big challenge for poor staff. The place itself is very fascinating, the terrace is the place to be in summer, even in thunderstorm. Menu at 26 euros is reasonably priced, but not as good as the menu (only in French) suggests. Two men staff is absolutely too little: long wait for menu, no water... More

Wife and I were very excited to have dinner here. We had read great reviews and Michelin Guide gives it the bar gourmand. Also, we had dinner at two other places in town and they mentioned it was good food. We arrived on time and were seated immediately. Then they forgot about us. We did not see someone again for... My opinion: They should remove all tables from the terrace and fill it with nice flowers and a fountain and only serve tables by reservation. Keep it real, increase the prices rather than get more orders and end up making a joke of them selves and their customers. My story: I was looking forward to this restaurant. I wasn't lucky... More

We had the three course set menu for dinner at Le Clos Basque for 26 euros. Very good quality and the serving staff made helpful recommendations. All our food was delicious. The calamari and jambon cru starter was a highlight. You have to book to get a place. Definitely recommend going.

Le Clos Basque, do not miss this incredible little restaurant! Great food, quality, presentation and service. The magret de canard, the plat du jour, the desserts are unbelievable... The Meyer Global Group had a memorable meeting about Keller Williams Realty France development in the South West.

Lunch with friends (4 of us) cost 190 euros which was expensive for the area. Excellent quality, good sized portions and attractive restaurant, if a little tight. Probably more room in the summer when the terrace is open. Basque cuisine (although I'm not sure where Boeuf Bourgignon fits into that). Lovely rillettes de canard and delicious dessert. Special occasion restaurant.

Great value for a gourmet restaurant that you would not figure out if you just look at the entrance. The venue is warm and charming, service is attentive yet relaxed, perfect for a group of friend. Current menu with salmon and chipiron dish over risotto is just incredible, deserts are difficult to pick from and wine very reasonable in price.... More

We spent two weeks in France in November/December, in Paris and Pays Basque, and my husband and I both agree that this meal at Le Clos Basque was the best on the trip--and we ate at Le Comptoir in Paris--TWICE! (Not saying that wasn't an amazing place, too. It most certainly was!) There was, however, something about Le Clos Basque... More
