Chef deserves better restaurant

Excellant cuisine, poor service. Not that the servers are bad - they do the best they can. But at least one more is needed. The boss is apparently more interested in saving money than providing for his customers. The very good chef should find a job in a more deserving restaurant.

Am sorry to have to echo some of the recent comments before this one. We dined here on Tues last, having booked and it was not all as I expected. After ordering the salmon, the waiter literally threw the cutlery down on the table in front of me, I should have taken a photo. I am not being picky. I... More

And the cuisine is very far from what one would expect. At times felt like pre-cooked. Perhaps understaffed - had to walk to the kitchen twice to ask for something. NOT recommended.

Worst restaurant experience ever. We made a booking a week before it was time to go and we had rather high expectations. As we arrived at 20.30 the restaurant was busy and there seemed to be a shortage of waiters. After being seated at our table we wait for more than 20 minutes and without a sign of being noticed... Friday night, full house - too big challenge for poor staff. The place itself is very fascinating, the terrace is the place to be in summer, even in thunderstorm. Menu at 26 euros is reasonably priced, but not as good as the menu (only in French) suggests. Two men staff is absolutely too little: long wait for menu, no water... More

3 course menu of top class eats for €26. The most expensive white wine we could find was a nice Basque number for €22. Tremendous value for the quality. Some of the caveats in other reviews are on the mark: you really need to book; there are only 2 really busy waiters so they are not at your beck and... More

Wife and I were very excited to have dinner here. We had read great reviews and Michelin Guide gives it the bar gourmand. Also, we had dinner at two other places in town and they mentioned it was good food. We arrived on time and were seated immediately. Then they forgot about us. We did not see someone again for... My opinion: They should remove all tables from the terrace and fill it with nice flowers and a fountain and only serve tables by reservation. Keep it real, increase the prices rather than get more orders and end up making a joke of them selves and their customers. My story: I was looking forward to this restaurant. I wasn't lucky... More

We had the three course set menu for dinner at Le Clos Basque for 26 euros. Very good quality and the serving staff made helpful recommendations. All our food was delicious. The calamari and jambon cru starter was a highlight. You have to book to get a place. Definitely recommend going.

Le Clos Basque, do not miss this incredible little restaurant! Great food, quality, presentation and service. The magret de canard, the plat du jour, the desserts are unbelievable... The Meyer Global Group had a memorable meeting about Keller Williams Realty France development in the South West.
