We were expecting a classy meal with good food, wine and ambiance but were disappointed. There were too many tables packed into the room, our first 2 courses arrived very quickly and then service almost ground to a halt. Food was pretentious without being very good. Staff were very busy. Will not be returning

We booked for Sunday lunch during our six night stay in Biarritz and we were very glad that we had this experience. The place was packed (both inside and outside seating) and the two waiters did an amazingly good job considering how busy the place was. Its a place to take your time and savour the atmosphere, along with the... More

We went to La Clos Basque on our last night in Biarritz. I’d booked it earlier in the week and am glad I did as it was very busy with mostly locals & they were turning people away. We sat outside on the terrace as it was a very pleasant evening. The menu was entirely in French but with the... More

Honest food for an honest price, you have a menu at 26 eur , appetizer, main course and desert. I had a velouté of green peas with a touch of mint, haddock, and a chocolate dessert which I preferred to be endless, my compagnion had foie gras , merlu and risotto and a basque cake .Please do not forget to... We went for a birthday meal. The food was beautifully cooked and presented. The menu is not huge because this is genuine inventive cuisine based on the best locally sourced ingredients. So many restaurants in France serve the same old dishes - Le Clos Basque is the opposite - virtually everything was new to me and will be to you... More

This was among the least expensive meals we had in France but was one of the best, with a good value house red wine. Service was spot on and a nice ambiance to the place

This restaurant is sensational. I had the foie gras terrine to start and the braised pork cheeks for main course. I was there in a group of four and we all tasted a little of each others meals. Every single meal was divine and I would have been happy to eat any of them. The fish was incredible fresh, the... More

We visited this place as we were in a rush to go somewhere and saw Tripadvisor had recommended the place. The hours say they open at 12. My wife and I were there at 11:55 with another woman and waited for it to open. Since we had to go back onto a bus at 12:45, we stood in plain view... More

Make sure to make a reservation as the place is always full. We found this place thanks to a reference in a Michelin guide book. It has a lovely interior with a few tables (7 or so) and a terrace. The food was quite artistic, beautifully presented, the wine list quite extensive. I had rolls stuffed with crab meat, risotto... More
