Bar Jean is known since years in Biarritz as the meeting point for locals and visitors. The quality of the tapas is excellent, as well as the service. The atmosphere is also a large plus for the place. It is crowded but in a nice manner. It is popular and the mix of people makes this place one of the... More

Food only okay. There are a lot of restaurants in this area, and lots with good reviews. This is a landmark restaurant, but the menu is small and the food just okay.

This small gem has a great atmosphere, slightly away from the more tourism affects harbour area. While it can be a bit noisy, it feels like a nice place to be and the service is friendly, although not hugely quick when it is busy. The food is very well prepared for the price level and nicely simple and easy. We... More

Service - not good! But that's more of a rule in Biarritz. Make sure to be seen and heard by the staff in a djungle of loud, french speaking locals. How ever, food and wine is great! Will def be coming back!

Busy brasserie at the side of Biarritz market, popular with locals as well as tourists. Very good food with a simple menu but that's not a criticism - sometimes there can be too much choice! In fact, my wife and I had dinner several times here during our stay in Biarritz so we could experience a number of the dishes.... More

Yes, we liked the restaurant, didn't have to wait to long to get a (very tight) table, and the food was very good, especially the sardines. Price was ok. But I can't believe lonely planet speakes so highly of it; This fantastic city must have (even) better places!

In 40 years together my husband has never left a tip until tonight. Rude staff, inedible food and an overall terrible experience! I ordered my fav appetizer calamari frito that was so disgusting I couldn't even eat it and I love food and don't set the highest standards- but this was inedible. The wait staff was a bunch of immature... More

This big and crowded restaurant can serve as a good example for restaurateurs who plan to open a place, and want to get that special 'happy' atmosphere. Happy. tasty food, OK prices, lots of Alcohol, good service - although the place was packed, and we had to wait a few minutes, the staff was attentive and warm, and once seated... More

Tried to eat in this restaurant for three years now. Every time we go we happen to choose the busiest time so there is a long wait for tables. Finally had just a 10 minute wait last week and decided to go for it. Wine is reasonable by the glass and it is one of the few places in Biarritz... More
