Basque/Gascogne cuisine with warm service and a witty menu

My son and I had a great meal at Table D'Aranda last night. It is not a fancy restaurant, however the wait staff was charming and attentive and the food was excellent. I went for the "Menu des Curieux" for 37 euros and had jambon de Bayonne with melon, and then a seared Basque pork with polenta... read more

We booked La Table d'Aranda before coming to Biarritz, based mostly upon the TripAdvisor reviews. We walked up from our hotel into this quieter part of town, and had a drink at the Tobac/Bar next door (also good service, and seemed to be a popular hangout for locals). we were the first at the restaurant at 8pm, but as the... We were very impressed by the food, service & affable /friendly staff here. The waitress has good English & can take you through the extensive choices. We left the choice of wine up to the owner as we order very different foods on menus & he was spot on with a lovely French Malbec. The dessert made with Cluizel chocolate... More

Quite a way from the shore last night, but worth the visit in this quiet part of town. I believe we were the only tourists in the restaurant, the remainder filled with locals. That was a good sign! We took the menu for the day, ably assisted by the pleasant and helpful staff. I loved the gentle jazz playing in... More

Located a bit off from the main tourist places, but easy to reach. Very friendly service. Excellent French/Basque food combining traditional elements with a modern twist at a reasonable price level.

We had the wine pairing menu and we loved the combinations offered as well as the variety of the menu. We had a table of 4 so we were able to try many items offered in the appetizer and entree selection. The pigeon was just outstanding and the selection for the 57 euros all in price was fantastic. From foie... More

er mind as we live here and can go down the avenue to see it. Bon rapport qualité prix. J'ai aussi aimé mini feu d'artifice pour mon anniversaire et la musique d'ambiance genre jazzy. Bref on a tous aimé.

A gem of a restaurant, despite the nondescript location. Mostly locals, but the quality of the food and service were very good. The price was amazing, 53 Euros for two course meal and drinks for two! A must when in Biarritz

Great modern Basque-style food in a lovely traditional setting in a non-touristy area. The Menu des Curieux was excellent value at 30 euros. Although full of locals, our waitress spoke very good English & was extremely helpful & friendly. Far better value than the tourist traps in town.
