Had lunch here with friends a few days after the New Year. Very good food, imaginatively presented, not that expensive for the quality that is provided. Hostess and wait staff very friendly, and did a good job of explaining the ingredients and methods of preparation of various dishes to our non-French speaking table. Service was very good and attentive, without... More

Dined here a year ago for a special occasion and had my socks blown off. Couldn't wait to return and was not disappointed. Brought more friends this time and as it was later in the year we dined inside instead of the terrace. Still wonderful ambience, if not quite as magical as the terrace is in the evening. A veloute... We walked two miles in blitzing sunshine to find the restaurant but as soon as we were greeted and taken to the beautiful terrace and handed the menu we knew it was going to be worth it! The food at L'oiseau Bleu was wonderful, beautifully presented and full of flavour. The atmosphere is relaxed and the staff friendly and helpful... More

We ate at this lovely restaurant last week for lunch. We arrived at Noon, a tad early by French standards, I think. Sophie seated us on the terrace and made sure we had shade from the plentiful umbrellas. It was a warm Bordeaux day, and sitting on the beautiful patio made it feel so relaxing. We ordered from the a... More

L oiseau bleu had been recommanded to us as a gastronomic restaurant and ... it is !!! Altyhough prices are very reasonable !!! Not that kind of very expensive restaurants with nothing in the plates and so expensive ... Really a nice place !!! One bad thing, it's not very located although easy to reach by tram ...

We were a party of six and having researched possible lunch venues with terraces and good food we plumped for L'Oiseau Bleu. We were not disappointed, the fixed price menu was excellent and represented good value for this level of cooking, we had some excellent local wine to go with our meal which was also reasonably priced. The terrace is... More

We were really pleasantly surprised by our lunch at this restaurant. The food was so creative and well presented. We ate on the terrace on a gorgeous day. It was easy to get to on the tram, really well priced ... and very delicious!!!

This is an exceptional restaurant and it can only be a matter of time before Michelin award a star. The food is sophisticated and beautifully presented, the wine list extensive and not exceptionally priced for the quality. The toast with the amuse-bouche was a bit overdone for out taste and we had to ask twice for our second bottle of... More

This was fine dining, distinctively french with its insistence on local and fresh ingredients, my entree was cépes as the season for them had just began while my wife had some amazing vegetable dish, that featured a very exotic french Spring Roll. We both had one of the specials of the day, wild pigeon. The major portions dripping blood, seared... More
