We enjoyed this restaurant greatly. The food was very good to excellent and reasonably priced. There is a nice wine menu. Our server was friendly and excellent and helped with translation of the menu since they do not have one in English. Lovely setting on Parlement Square so great for people watching. Definitely a place to which we would return.

We went here on our first night in Bordeaux and it was a great introduction to bordelaise cuisine. The wine list, of course, is extensive, but even if (like us) you stick to the house wines you'll enjoy a fine glass or three. The food is clearly prepared with expertise and love - portions are just right too. It's classic... More

Had dinner there, sitting outside which was pleasurable in such a nice square. Chairs got a bit uncomfortable after a while though. Good service. Starter of melon three ways which was ok, but the toast with the tomatoes on it was rock hard and virtually inedible. Still not sure if melon and tomatoes go together. Main of slow cooked pork... I ate here with 2 colleagues on 16th June. We all ordered Entrecôte Charolaise, 2 cooked medium and 1 medium-well, having been looking forward to a good steak during our one evening in France on a business trip. Unfortunately none of us were very impressed with the steaks, one colleague left most of theirs on their plate. All three entrecôtes... More

My husband and I got the set menu and everything was tasty. The waiter was very nice and helped us translate the menu and they were attentive with bringing out water and checking to see how we were doing. The only the I was not over the moon with was the texture of the creme brulee as I would have... More

Our hotel recommended this restaurant for dinner and I must say that I am impressed. The waiter recommended a delightful wine, and the bread was some of the best we've had in France. We ordered the scallops and the t-bone... Also on the waiter's recommendations... Oh wow. Also dined with a picky eater, and the chef was more than accommodating.... More

Chez Jean offers good value prix fixe menus with proper French food with a modern twist on some of the dishes. The decor itself is quite modern, different from the other places around. I haven't been wowed either, but it's still a good place to go in this very touristy area.
