Good food in nice location

We ate very well! The Saint Jacques shells are delicious : really nice texture. And for the risotto as well...So "cremoso"! The service is good ; good timing for the arrival of the dishes at the table and very polite people. About the dessert, cocoa' amateurs ...Attention!!! Here it is : An ephemeral sphere of chocolate, that you have to... More

Had the lunch formule and was totally great! Cheap with all the dishes you need! Had the chicken skewers and octopus as starters, boef tartar and lamb as main meal; all were delicious! Really recommended!

Me and a friend went here to try and get a nice Bordelais cuisine- we heard about Chez Philippe, which I believe used to be the previous owner of the restaurant, who was reputed for having good oysters. Well, no oysters on the menu. Whoops. We ordered the fixed menu- Brie tempura for an appetizer and the lamb for the... More

We had dinner here to celebrate a birthday and we were very pleased with our choice. We decided to take the suggestion menu and that was very good value for what we paid. Every dish was a feast for the eye and tasted as good as it looked. The wine choice is vast with wines for every pallet and wallet.... More

We hunted for ages to get a place for our last full meal in Bordeaux and found it here. It was very nice. They had run out of the entrée and plat du jour but the meals we picked were very nice and well priced. We felt we had paid a fair price for the experience and had fun people... More

The location of Chez Jean is wonderful. Overall, I would call the experience "good." So, I was torn between a rating of average and a very good. The food and service was very typical for a French bistro. I certainly would not hesitate to eat there again, but I would not seek it out specifically. I had the shrimp on... More

I started with the fish wrapped in Chinese nem, actually very original! As a main course I had the lamb which comes with a stunning variety of vegetables and to finish as desert I had the raspberry mousse. Restaurant is set in this marvelous square "place du Parlement" so pleasant after sunset.

Placed in one of most central square of the city. Eating outdoor was very nice. Food was good and tasting. Price not so cheap but acceptable considering quality of food. Good experience.

My hotel recommended this place on a Sunday night when most places are closed. I started with the bone marrow dish "moelle osseuse"- delicious! As a main course I had the monkfish wrapped in bacon and it was overcooked and rubbery. Restaurant is set in a beautiful square and we sat outside.
