07/12/15 - Great meal thanks to T/A reviews

Checked out Trip Adviser reviews for a good meal somewhere close to our Hotel and tried out Le Scopitone. We had to look for it to find it and when we did, it was busy. They were able to fit us in and we had a great meal. I had the gourmand salad for a starter which was very interesting... read more

Had read about this restaurant on TA and it was just round the corner from our hotel, so had to try it. We were not disappointed, the staff were friendly and helpful and the food absolutely delicious, good local dishes. You are seated very close to other diners, which we don't mind as it gives you a good opportunity to... More

This place is tiny, therefore few tourists may know about it. Very traditional local Bordeaux cuisine which is what you need when u want to experience real Bordeaux. The sittings are very close to each other, but when you try the food nothing else matters! The main local dishes you should try are Pigeon Roti and the best egg white... More

Quite near hotel which was convenient. We had a long tiring day so wanted feeding. I had gourmande salad which was great. My wife the lamb which she enjoyed. A pichet of rose helped along the way. The place was full of locals always a good sign. Not cheap but good value.

Loved this small restaurant which is worth a visit particularly if you're nearby. Reasonable prices for good food and wine.

This is a cozy, rather good restaurant in a great location in the old city. Loved my meal; service was great.

We visited Le Scopitone for lunch with our kids. It's a little hard to describe - very traditional menu for the most part, with some contemporary specials. We had delightful dishes in the 3 course set menu which were good value at E22. Tasty, good service and authentic - a nice option all round and while tourist friendly, certainly a... More

Weird one, this. A couple of locals recommended this place to us and by the time we finished eating we were shoulder to shoulder with hordes more as the place was absolutely packed out. With the red vinyl banquets and fading film director photos on the wall it looks like it hasn't changed since the 1960s. Maybe it hasn't... we... More

From the time we arrived until the time we left the service was faultless! A fabulous meal with all of our dishes perfectly cooked. The menu is different to anywhere else in Bordeaux we have been to, and it uses seasonal fresh produce. A great ambience - wines by the glass or bottle and a great range of wines. Centrally... More

Situated in the old part of Bordeaux yet slightly off the beaten tourist track, this place is a real find. The setting is 50s/60s. With photos of famous film directors hanging on the wall, the likes of Frank Capra, Alfred Hitchcock, Marcel Pagnol and Howard Hawks survey your gastronomic pleasure. The menu is based on simple family-style cooking, all freshly... More
