A good Michelin starred restaurant experience

We were surprised by the fact so many people could be seated in this restaurant upon taking our seats. The day we dined at the restaurant it was quite a warm day and after more people got seated in the restaurant you could feel the temperature rise in the dining room. Ate here for lunch, and most courses of the menu were excellent. The risotto was a bit salty, but generally great. The wine menu was a disappointment, I think it's been said before. No half bottles, and all quite pricey. The bottle we eventually settled on was quite unremarkable, wouldn't have expected such a poor wine to be on the... More

This is a truly excellent place to dine, for which their Michelin star is well deserved. Attention to detail and presentation is one thing but the flavours and combinations were just wonderful. Great value for money at around £60 odd per head including a memorable chocolaty Languedoc wine. Book well ahead to avoid disappointment.

We used to love La Cap before their Michelin star, but the last few times we came they had started to take themselves too seriously, and had become a bit too precious after their elevation so had not come for quite some time, preferring Le Gabriel in the Bourse. This time the food and service were both excellent, friendly and... More

Surprising location in the middle of a off city suburb . The rest is set in a simple villa + garden .Very inventive and well dressed cuisine . With the success the price went up but this is normal .

La Cape is in the suburb of Cenon, about 35 minutes from central Bordeaux by tram. The restaurant is in a converted house, inauspiciously situated behind a retail plaza. But the interior is very attractive in a modern style with a Japanese feel. Two large walls of windows in the main dining room overlook a terrace and garden (which would... More

This is my second visit to this restaurant. The first time, some three years ago I was very impressed. The chef has changed and this time around I was very disappointed, I thought the whole food experience to be style above substance. Portions were tiny, flavours oddly put together including foie gras with carrot as a starter, followed by the... More

I went this suburban restaurant because it is rated as the 8 among 600 restaurants in Bordeaux. I also wanted to see the culinary out of the touristic circuit of this town. I lost my time and money. It is a house, in the middle of now where, some tables in, some at the backyards, decoration is contemporary and comercial.... More

One has to consider himself or herself truly blessed when a world-class meal is reliably available at a very, very modest price. This is surely the situation at La Cape. We have eaten in this restaurant on four occasions, and it has never taken a wrong step. Service is always impeccable, and the staff is friendly and professional. One can... More

This restaurant is located just outside Bordeaux and we went there with relatively high expectations, given that it was a 1-star michelin restaurant. We had one of the gastronomique menus and the food was good and well presented, but thats about it. There wasn't any dish which I thought was absolutely spectacular. Service was ok, but a bit slow. One... More
