A great place!

We were a group of 16 Architects and ate in many places in Bordeaux some of them very disappointing but le Bouchon Bordelaise was the best and friendliest Restaurant of them all! Wonderful food and a very motivated and friendly team!

Delicious food. We thoroughly enjoyed every bite. The dining area is tight, so you are elbow to elbow with the tables next to you. Fills up fast, so make reservations in advance.

We had a very pleasant evening here, with good service - but it was nothing special. The food was not out of the ordinary at all and despite the many supportive reviews, we found it overpriced for what it was. The starter of duck foie gras with a sort of crispy covering, with julienne of I think celeriac was lacking... More

We went here with a large group with a pre-selected dinner menu. The foie gras was the best I ever had. It's more of a family run place, with servers handling the restaurant, so service is more "paced" ... European style. The whole meal was excellent and location is very near the opera.

We loved this small bistro on a side street in Bordeaux. The owners of our B&B said it was their favorite restaurant and I can see why. The setting is very comfortable and intimate. The service was very friendly and professional. The menu and wine list are interesting. Most importantly, the food was outstanding. The foie gras starter in particular... More

Restaurant abruptly cancelled a booking by phone, leaving a message with third party. Had eaten here before and, although pricey enough, meal and service had been fine and wanted to bring my wife to it. When I called by to speak to the "patron" next day I was told that he was too busy to come out to talk to... More

Visited the restaurant with a large party for dinner. The service was a little slow given the number of guests within our party - but the restaurant was very busy too! When the food came it was excellent. Well presented and very tasty. The wines were also superb!

Had dinner here before running the Medoc Marathon. Really enjoyed the fine Bordeaux wine and the food was excellent. Fillet steak marinated in soya and spices...beautiful. Staff/owners very attentive, you must book in advance.

I really enjoyed the friendly service and felt like a private guest. I chose their "menu surprise", which included salmon tartar with herbs, oysters on the half shell topped with thinly shaved raw vegetables (marinated in lime juice, I think), escargots Bordelaise, red mullet "tapas" on a bed of black olive tapenade, foie gras, black pudding sausage (blood sausage) in... This is a fantastic little restaurant hidden down a side street in the heart of Bordeaux. We had a great evening and some amazing food. The steak was genuinely one of the nicest steaks I have eaten. Book to avoid disappointment. Great staff, great restaurant - compliments to the chef!
