Fantastic

Just returned to my hotel after an excellent dinner. The staff, the chef and the food was wonderful. Best dinner (by far!) to date after 4 days in Bordeaux. The escargot (Chef's Mothers recipe) was fantastic. Very good wine by the glass at 4.50 was also a big plus. Love the "walnut" dressing... read more

We were headed to a touristy restaurant but the proprietor of our B and B suggested this place instead. It was definitely more a locals restaurant and we really enjoyed it. I had read here that one reviewer said his wife rarely ate steak but she ordered it here and "saw what she had been missing." I had a similar... More

The manager of the B&B recommended this restaurant. We were arrived just after 8 pm. The restaurant was fully booked. No matter, the room manager found us a table. The food was well presented and delicious. In spite of the full house, we were well taken care of with grace and humour. This meal concluded our 3 day visit to... More

We had dinner here on a recent trip to Bordeaux and had mixed feelings about it. Food was good and staff were friendly but not very attentive. When booking we had told them that it was for a special occasion (birthday) but there was no note or reference to it. People around us that sat down after us had their... More

7 of us had a great meal here. The staff was friendly and helpful. Everyone loved their meal and the deserts were just as good. For the quality of the dinner the prices were very reasonable. A little off the beaten path but worth the trip. Would definitely return.

This little gem of a restaurant is worth going back to Bordeaux for just to dine there again. Friendly and helpful staff, a cosy ambience and gorgeous food for a very reasonable price made it an evening to remember for a very long time. I could not recommend it more highly, one of the best meals I have ver had... More

The first piece of advice is to ignore any local taxi drivers taking you to Le Bouchon Bordelais. Despite showing him my reservation on the phone he shouted 'Excuse me but I live here and am telling you that is a bar. Not a restaurant! Non!'. It was a good job we didn't heed his advice (perhaps a relative owned... More

What a find! This restaurant is perfect. The waiter and waitress were so welcoming and explained the French menu to us. They didn't rush through it which was great. The food is cooked to perfection. We have been in France for nearly a month and it is by far the best meal we've had. The menu is reasonable with regards... More

Limited menu but everything was cooked to perfection. The staff translated the menu and made accommodations without complaint. Lovely atmosphere. You know this is a neighborhood gem

Our party "The European Diners Club" ate here on our first of three nights in Bordeaux, what a find! My starter, small pieces of lamb on a filoux pastry stuffed with mushrooms melted in the mouth. 4 of us had the filet steak dish which was delicious, my wife never eats steak but did this time and said what have...
