We selected this place as it was a great sunny summer day and they had plenty of outdoor seating. We were on a mall or square type arrangement with lots of al fresco dining from a number of other restaurants. We selected a variety of oysters in a degustation arrangement with oysters being from all over France. We were not... More

A small modern charming place between the river and the Grand Comedie. Excellent velvety soupe de poisson (fish soup) classically done (rouille, cheese, croutons). Superb oysters.Good choice of wines from the area. We loved it.

My brother found this place online but when we first went, we found they closed between lunch and dinner so we had to get our oyster fix in a brasserie. A few days later, when yet another of our chosen restaurants was cosed, we took the opportunity to get some really fresh oysters for lunch. Our server helped us by... More

I'm an on again - off again oyster fan, sometimes they are great and sometimes I wonder why I'm eating them…Since this area is renowned for their oysters, I decided to give them another try, and it was the right decision. The restaurant setting is casual, efficient and simple. The menu is also straightforward. And the oysters were fresh, flavorful... More

We tried the degustation which comprised 14 oysters from 4 different regions in France. Absolutely fantastic and freshly shucked in the street outside the shop. We love oysters and these were fantastic....we ordered 6 more of the type from Brittany which were outstanding. The staff were very helpful and a lot of people had the same ad us. Prices are... More

While we were staying in Bordeaux we thought of going to Arcachon for an oyster fix. We can't remember where the tip came from but we were advised to forego the trip and go to La Boîte a Huitres. It was excellent advice. My wife does not like oysters. She had a very good terrine du Landais and I had... More

Fish soup and tuna pate for starters, four types of oysters and a bottle of crisp white burgundy. Oysters were fresh and the service was friendly. A perfect meal.

Excellent place for a lighter dinner, sitting outside in a tree-lined square. Fantastic oysters served with sausage, which was surprisingly great. Wash down with a crisp white burgundy, rinse, repeat.

Just an important note. My wife and I went for lunch last Friday, and we developed a norovirus infection the next day, from which we are still recovering. The oysters looked and tasted fine, but it does not seem that the oyster preparer was following any health and safety measures. I watched at him while he was opening them I... More

We ventured into the oyster bar, just a few blocks from our hotel, in an area with many restaurants and outside "bars" where locals seem to congregate starting at 5:00 pm or so to start the evening with drinks and social time. The oysters were amazing.....freshly caught, in cardboard boxes with seaweed......from several areas of France.....we enjoyed some unique flat... More
