After two nights of gorging on Michelin rated food we eagerly looked forward to meeting Giancarlo at his highly rated wine bar . The TA reviews certainly rate this place highly and glad to say , righty so . A warm and friendly welcome awaited us as we settled down to a couple of hours of simple honest food .... More

The boss is Italian, so that gives an alternative side to this wine bar in the heart of Bordeaux. Very friendly and helpful with his advice on what to drink according to what you feel like eating, or vice versa. Great charcuterie and cheese, from France, Italy and Spain; and a large choice of bottles well beyond the scope of... More

We called into Le Wine Bar after lunch whilst walking around Bordeaux. This is a lovely little place, just off St Pierre. There is an excellent selection of wines by the glass and a friendly, relaxed atmosphere. Like many wine bars in Bordeaux, their licence doesn't allow them to serve alcohol without food. We were given a small plate of... More

Le wine Bar offers an experience in Bordeaux not to be missed. The wine selection is very good and the small plates work well. We went back twice and were not disappointed.....a glass of white and a bottle of red accompanied by a caprese salade and a HUGE plate of fois gras made us swoon.

Giancarlo was very welcoming with his friendly smile and enthousiasm! The Wine bar has a very stylish decor, matching wood, stone and glass. Not only does it have a nice wine list, its mezze type of food is quite appreciative, the foie gras is a must! We came in for a glass of white wine but only left 2 hours... More

Very welcoming small wine bar. We were greeted very warmly by the owner. He was friendly and informative, and we had a nice time trying a few different wines. There are over 200 to choose from, and we were happy with the recommendations. Also, you must order food due to some regulations. We had the buffalo mozzarella and the meat... More

This corner wine bar in a section of the city surrounded by top restaurants and bars was just the place for something to tide you over or late night snack. We had a cheese & meat plate with Bordeaux wines of course. The atmosphere is great ant the aged sandstone walls add to the ambiance. We liked the waiters who... More

Nice enough place, the young ladies who served were quite nice though we weren't made to feel very welcome by the manager/owner. The wine list and cheese were quite good but there are better places to go in Bordeaux.

Don't be put off by the very annoying server, hassling you to choose wine using his memory of available wines, as opposed to the menu, and once you're past his insistence that you're not allowed wine without food as apparently he doesn't have a license to serve alcohol without serving you food, you actually then have a chance to relax... Dear customer, not apparently we doesn't have a license to serve alcohol without serving food, that's our reality, written on the door of the wine bar and on the menu, but you should learn to read... Concerning the imaginary "flirt", we just suppose you drunk too much and you was a little bit deranged, so please stop to drink alcohol... More

We were looking for a small meal with good wine. This wine bar had a good selection of small plates and good wines by the glass. The proprietor was very friendly. He welcomed us and spent time chatting with us about the establishment and the local area. I would definitely go if I am ever back in Bordeaux.
