Don't be put off by the very annoying server, hassling you to choose wine using his memory of available wines, as opposed to the menu, and once you're past his insistence that you're not allowed wine without food as apparently he doesn't have a license to serve alcohol without serving you food, you actually then have a chance to relax... We were looking for a small meal with good wine. This wine bar had a good selection of small plates and good wines by the glass. The proprietor was very friendly. He welcomed us and spent time chatting with us about the establishment and the local area. I would definitely go if I am ever back in Bordeaux.

If you are in Bordeaux, and want a fun, friendly, reasonable place to go and taste wine with a few light bites, make sure you visit Le Wine Bar! Gian Carlo , your host, is a very personable guy who speaks perfect English as well as Italian ( his native tongue) Spanish and French. He makes you feel at home... More

This little wine bar in a back street of Bordeaux is a gem! We visited tonight (a Tuesday) and the place was full when we arrived but the owner still found a space for us at the bar. Soon we had a table thanks to an English gentleman who exchanged his table for our bar seats. My husband and I... More

Recommended by hotel concierge, we didn't want a big sit down meal and weren't too sure what to expect. Turns out this is a great place to get several small dishes of different meats and cheeses amongst other things and some nice little (or big) wines. The owner clearly has a good of sense of humour as do the staff... More

We trusted the Trip Advisor reviews on this one and we were certainly not disappointed! Great food, albeit not French food if that is what you are expecting. The owner was very nice, knowledgeable and didn't even mind that we had a baby in a stroller. The wine recommendations were awesome, reflecting the in house knowledge and the depth of... More

Had some excellent wines, simple and delicious food and a great conversation with one of the proprietors. The people watching was superb too, as the place is a bit tucked away from the main streets so you see the real neighborhood life.

We had visited the wine bar 2 years ago and my wife loved it that much we decided to go back to Bordeaux and the wine bar for her 50th birthday. This time both our sons came with us and we literally had one of the best nights of our lives. The wine was, as you would expect, top class.... More

Enjoyed a splendid evening here this week while visiting Bordeaux. There's an amazing choice of Italian wines and a selection of simple foods that complement the experience perfectly. You perch on high stools, order something to eat and while the evening away. Ingredients were amazing, taking a dish of burrata (mozarella with cream), roquette, cherry tomatoes to another dimension with... More
